Have you ever put your fingers down on a book or printed page and tried to expand it like you would with a tablet or smart phone. Nothing like being embarrassed for yourself, to yourself. At work I have two monitors on my desk, and on the wall behind it a calendar. Often I will be looking at dates and info on the calendar and be frustrated/puzzled why I can't get the cursor up to that "screen". ![]() I use a trackball at work and at home instead of a mouse. I usually sit back in my chair, keyboard in lap, trackball on my stomach/chest or on the arm of my chair. Last night I was sitting there with my legs crossed, iPad in my lap, getting frustrated. "What the hell is wrong now?" No matter how much or where I mover the track ball, I can't find the cursor on the iPad. Idiot.

It is called learned behavior. Like the problems people had with an I phone when they removed the home button.

I fly DCS (flight sim) a lot in VR. There is a zoom command that zooms in the view so you can see distant or smaller things easier that I have mapped to a button on my hotas throttle. I’ve caught myself a few times driving down the road irl, noticing something in the distance and reaching out for that zoom button so I can see it more clearly

I had a client that complained that his mouse was backwards. Mouse went up - pointer went down. Had to turn the mouse 180 degrees. Fixed. ![]()

Often enough, I hit the "unlock" button on my cars key-fob when approaching the door to my house... ![]() __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Not quite similar but what I get is when I scroll down to the bottom of a web page (most likely Sigforum)- I try to scroll down more and my eyes anticipate more downward scrolling and they do this weird thing where they anticipate screen motion and lose track for a split second or go a tad out of focus while sending a weird sensation back to my brain. That's the best I can describe it.

I've done that when I've had my laptop open next to my desktop and tried to move the mouse over to the other screen and thought "WTF?!?!" ![]() "America is at that awkward stage. More than once, I’ve had to find my iPad, open “Find” and order my phone to play a sound so I can find it… in my pocket!! Does that count? When I was a kid, I lost my T Ball cap before a game. Looked all over for it, until I walked past the hall mirror and saw it on my head. The tech may change, but I can consistently do dumb stuff no matter our tech level. Three hundred years in the future, and I’ll be the guy standing in the holo deck wondering why the transporter isn’t working. I’ve broken a couple of tablets trying to put a dog ear on the corner to mark my place. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
