Of course he’s full of shit, and exaggerating, but I’ll give him a slight benefit of the doubt on the “concussive round” and the “kaboom”, as it sounds like he was shooting indoors.

We all know that there’s no “recoil rippling through his arms and shoulder” from a .223. But indoors, and with not great hearing protection, I can believe half of what he’s saying he felt.

I didn’t always, but now when I’m shooting indoors, or even under a low roof outdoors, I double up on ear pro, foam in the canal and muffs on top.

I heard Dana loesch do a dramatic reading of this on her radio program yesterday. It was pretty funny.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

It's just more propaganda to demonize the AR and 5.56 round as some incredibly powerful weapon that should not be in civilian hands. Same goes for the ER doctors talking about the "horrific" wounds from an AR that are pretty much standard for any centerfire rifle with either a fragmenting or expanding round. Compared to a handgun, yeah they are worse, which is the entire point of a rifle.

Makes you want to say "If you think that is bad, let's see what happens when you get to work on someone shot with a 7.62 x 51 hollow point suitable for deer hunting."

Everyone here knows a 12 gauge firing buck or slugs, or a 7.62 NATO rifle are much much more powerful and cause a lot more damage than an AR shooting 5.56. The AR15 however is the epitomy of compromise between good range, light weight, amount of ammo in a standard magazine, accuracy, and shootability, and deadly enough.

I've always found firing an AR15, well, kind of boring. They need to get out more.

I was thinking a .50 cal barrett....

I have to admit just about the most frightened I've been in my life was when I stood over a guy laying prone with a .50 cal and he fired off a round... the concussion from the flash suppressor on the barrel hit me so hard that it caused my brain to vibrate.... for something like 10 seconds...

Exactly. When I see these articles, I analyze the author, the audience, and the message. It usually makes sense then.

Who is the auhor? Some woke retard with an agenda.

Who is the audience? Woke sheep and the ignorant who know NOTHING about guns but what the msm, dems, and their teachers told them.

What is the message? ARs are big, scary guns that only psychopaths would enjoy shooting. NOBODY needs such a terrible weapon. They are too powerful for civilians. We need to ban them.

This guy may have never fired an AR at all. I also don't believe the other author years ago "got PTSD from firing it.". .

He's a liar. Not once, in the last 65 years, has anyone fired an AR-15 and felt what he wrote. At first I thought he was lying about even firing an AR, but there's a picture of him doing so in the article. Other than being a bad shot, everything else he wrote is a lie. His actual experience didn't fit his narrative, so he made up a story that would get him a pat on the back from his leftist peers. Someone should comment on how brave and courageous he is in his heroic effort battling his fears while overcoming his preconceptions. He should get a medal. Seriously, and a chest to pin it on.
