Texas Lawman, you should start putting together a replacement for her and send it to the White House in an email. I know for a fact that they hold your expertise is these matters in extremely high regard. I personally don't know of anybody more qualified than yourself to make such a critical decision. This is your big opportunity to right all the wrongs of this administration Roll Eyes

Thanks, sir! I’m glad my opinion, for which this forum was designed, is still allowed…even for a retired Texas LEO….unless it’s isn’t.

3 weeks from mid-term elections we need a competent Press Secretary. I know the job is difficult but Karoline Leavitt was so good she made the job look easy. Need to get this solved.

I can't see midterm elections hanging on any current WH press sec. Trump will say whatever he wants and his endorsements tend to carry a lot more weight than any other.

Karoline Leavitt was very good.
But IMO it's better to take your time and get it right than to get it done fast.
Trump mostly speaks for himself anyway.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

IMO, they should leave the position vacant and do away with these daily gaggles of reporters trying to one-up each other while attacking the administration (any administration), serving only to create the divisiveness everyone decries. They are a waste of time, money, and blood pressure medication.

If the President has something to share, he'll get it out.

A large chunk of her resume involved living and working in China. She should have been cut from the list for this reason alone.

Add Pennsylvania to that list. We were curb-stomped in the last round of state/local elections because-- recurring theme-- Republicans suck at actually voting, whereas the Dems treat that as their only job (and in many cases, it IS).

In PA01, Brian Fitzpatrick is ramped up to lose the district because a) Republican apathy and b) shit-tons of Democratic money on attack ads.

But "a)" is the biggest factor.

Yes, I’m in agreement with Gustofer and everyone else who agrees with him. The role is entirely unnecessary. Remember Stephanie Grisham who followed Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Press Secretary? She held the position for 9 months and did not have a single press briefing. The WH didn’t fall apart, did it? So no, we don’t need a Press Secretary because the midterm is just around the corner.

We can all discuss if we need a replacement or not for all the reasons for and against, but that doesn’t move us forward. The old one of just 5 days is out, and it’s probable a new one will be appointed to continue regular WH press briefings.

Reading today, Trump is reported to not be happy with the whole bunch going into the midterms. A new mouthpiece may be just one of many to change in the near future. This includes his chief of staff. Oh, and the 2nd in charge of the Secret Service just quit. We will just have to wait a little to find out if this is all just fake news or not.
