I would urge you to at least attend one of their seminars. a customer since January 10th spoke for 30 minutes ( a the very end) He had lost 90 pounds ! he was not a salesman by any means , but he was inspiring. No sugar ,processed or natural ( no fruit ,fruit juices, root vegetables, no dairy) no carbs, and almost no exercise.This message has been edited. The only part to this diet that will be followed is the no exercise. Unless you have super willpower this is going to be next to impossible to follow. I feel this simply sets you up to fail. This is the diet you do 2 months before you go to the beach. | |||

Big problem with today's prepackaged foods is excess salt and excess sugar to extend shelf life. One would have to cook at home to follow a strict weight loss diet. And exercise of course. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them". | |||

You go to a weekly weigh in and measure. he claims that if his spouse had not joined with him , he might not have made it. and the Nurse at the program knows for a fact that couples that join together do much better than singles. Lots of ways you can lose weight. Burn more calories than you take in and you will lose weight. 3500 calories to lose a pound. You can eat nothing but twinkies and lose weight as long as you keep at the required calorie count. It has been done and worked if you google it, albeit not a healthy way to do it. I lost 155 pounds 18 months counting calories and eating Normal foods and keeping track of calories in the my fitness app. I learned to weigh foods and learned portion sizes. I also excercised, but the real reason you lose weight is diet, not excercise. There are 3 kinds of people, those that understand numbers and those that don't. | |||

yeah thats in the plan , they offer a lot of protein and that 25% of kidney that I have left might not be able to handle the amounts that they offer. thanks for the thought seems kidneys have to work harder to process protein Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. You shouldn't exercise for weight loss per se, but for health and performance. Weight loss is pretty much all nutrition with exercise as a bonus. Once you get over the initial transition to low carb, it is easier than a typical low fat, low cal diet IMHO. This is because fat is the most calorie dense macronutrient so it is a lot more filling. Fruit is healthy, but not a good active weight loss food due to the sugar especially on a diet relying on ketosis, forcing the body to convert fatty acids into glycogen for energy. big ketosis effect for the first month, some have mild headaches and a mood swing or two. but after that you just start feeling better . the guy that spoke started out at 320, he said that 5 weeks in , all his joint pain left and the swelling was gone at 7 weeks Ketosis is a normal metabolic process. And how do you come to the conclusion that this program (that I have no knowledge of, or personal link to) is saying that apples and carrots make you fat just because they aren't part of a keto-based weight loss protocol? It does not logically follow from the evidence at hand. What is making people fat is consuming copious quantities of both processed carbs and fatty foods with poor nutritional value combined with low activity levels. One way proven effective in many variations to lose weight and improve health (as evidenced by blood work) are low carb diets. It isn't the only way though. And I'll say again, a healthy long-term "maintenance" diet should look different than in a weight loss phase of a diet. Any nutrition plan can work for weight loss, but it should be based on eating whole foods. Then you can pick between whole food diets that are low cal, low fat, or low carb. Whatever works for you, but I just hit the 20 lb milestone, after I stopped any alcohol on Aug 24 and started working out 90 minutes a day. 30 minutes on the bike, then two abdominal exercises and daily chest/back, or Bi's/Tri's or legs/shoulders. I keep my intake at about 1000 calories a day, and according to my tracker, Loseit.com I am usually under my calorie budget by about 1500 calories a day. Some days if I push hard or do a little extra, the exercise is greater than my food intake. I have tried Atkins, Weight Watchers, you name it, but the only thing that really works for me is exercise and counting calories . . with zero alcohol. This looks like someone took the benefits of ketosis, added their own rules, then made it into something they could sell. The ketogenic diet (keto) is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. It's really more of a lifestyle change, as it requires one to make some serious changes in how you eat. If you switch back to a normal diet, you'll likely gain back any weight you lost. That said, I've been following a keto diet since January and most likely won't ever change back. For me, I've lost 40 pounds so far, sleep better, less allergy issues, and have higher energy through the day. Best of all, those benefits all can be explained medically based the science behind keto. There's a lot of wrong info out there about keto. If you're interested, I'd recommend starting with the keto group on reddit (https://keto.reddit.com/) with the associated FAQ and 'Keto in a nutshell' guides. | |||

zero carb diet (Atkins) will work and take off weight quickly and it may be a good option for those that can't eat only a square inch of food as a meal and are too lazy to exercise. A reduced calorie diet along with exercise is a better option. Unfortunately it is hard to get across to some what exercise means. It is not walking to the frig 20 times even though your fitbit says you walked 10,000 steps, and it's more than 30 minutes of walking along and skipping rocks. You need your heart rate up to your age appropriate target for 45 minutes (better one hour) at least 4 times a week, and better everyday. Some resistance work is a benefit as well. Do that and eat reasonably and you'll drop the lbs. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. I'm fat. I'm fat because I love to eat food. I know this. Historically, I eat well past satisfied, to miserably stuffed. I believe this is because when I was in high school I starved myself during wrestling season to maintain weight. I am tired of being fat. In addition, my grandfather had a heart attack at 70, my uncle at 54, my father at 70. My wife and I are working to change our eating habits. In addition, I am walking 3 miles a day. My father's heart attack a couple of weeks ago was a real wake-up for me (and him, I hope). Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.
