Interesting program, it's in beta in Orange County FL (Orlando) and working on all 67 counties with plans to expand USA Wide.

CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities.
You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free.

Great idea!
I like that it’s expanding to all of Florida.

Country wide?
I don’t think it will be able to handle NYC, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and 90% of California.

I wonder if it can show ethnicity/race of those who got released vs those who were not released.

Like:
1. Released vs non-released by criminal charge
A. Race / ethnicity for each of 1.
B. Re-arrest rate for each of 1A
C. Citizenship / Visa status for each of 1AB

Long overdue, hopefully this gets national attention and gets expanded to every state.

That's going to be a big database.

I think this is an awesome idea. At election time, judges and their records are always the hardest to research and make an informed decision about. As someone who is absolutely sick and tired of re-arresting the same people over and over again, this kind of data would absolutely make my voting decisions for me. Judges need to be held accountable for their sentencing decisions.

This is great.

Several years ago, there was a judge somewhere in the northeast that I was shocked to read about his leniency on a convicted pedophile. The convict was not a 20 year old who had consensual sex with some 16-17 year old, but a genuine child molester; a monster.

He was all about wanting "help" this filth instead making sure he couldn't rape another child. I really wondered about him and if he was also a pedophile.

I wish I could remember his name. If he is still on the bench, he needs to have a spotlight shined on him 24/7.
