[tool man mode on]More Power! arrrggg arrra arrr arrr![ tool man mode off] Current Power Wheels has the basic 12v 7ah battery, we replaced the original with the same 12v 7ah because at the time we still had only one Grandkid. Now we have two, they ride together some and of course we now have way more weight, so it's slow and doesn't go as far which is expected. There are a ton of articles and videos most on increasing power/speed but we're really interested in a bit of speed and mostly run time. All kinds of suggestions from putting in a 18V tool battery with a quick mount, fuse, which really kicks up speed, so you need a controller, to adding a second 12V 7ah in parallel for more run time, dropping in 24v battery which creates other issues for charging. So what would give a bit of both, two 12's or a 12 and 6v all of same ah rating. There was a suggestion to wire a 12v with 6V in series for 18V total and that wouldn't tax the charger, but will give a bit more speed and run time. What about staying 12v, which doesn't change speed, but going to a 10ah or 18ah to increase drive time. Got to admit going 18 to24v and getting it moving quicker with a hidden dial controller is the fun part, but I don't want it so fast they get hurt. Link 12v to 18V

I don't see how he can charge the batteries the way he has it wired. It's a 4-bank (essentially 4 seperate chargers in one box) 6v/12v charger. It looks like he's only charging the 12v battery as that's the only place he has the charger wires connected. He'd have to connect another set of leads to the 6v battery and use a second bank off the charger plus disconnect the wire connecting the batteries to charge both at the same time. You can't charge 18v of batteries off a 12v charger. I've seen 6v, 12v, a d 24v chargers, but never an 18v one. For a little more speed and longer run time, how about a LiFePo4 battery with a higher a/hr rating? I think they have 14.4v fully charged vs 12.7 for a lead acid battery. NVM, 14.4v is their charging voltage, still only 12.8 once charged.

I forget the company, but these cam get pretty wild. More power, a drill trigger replacement pedal, so you get progressive power instead of on/off. We thought about it when ours were younger, they have a Raptor that got a lot of use. Battery's dead now & it just sits. Need to clean it up & sell it. The Enemy's gate is down.

Yes I bought an adapter for my Ryobi 18 batteries and wired in a circuit breaker and use and motor controller along with voltage protector. I ended up swapping to a circuit breaker as it would pop the fuse when the boys ripped it at full power for a bit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/39424...r=artemis&media=COPY https://a.co/d/5LBGcu3 ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Black that looks like a familiar mod video setup I saw on utoob, how long did your kids get in go time with the tool battery setup. I see the advantage is if you have plenty of 18V tool batteries around to swap out and keep it running. Where did you get the voltage readout unit. P250 was it MLToys.com? I've been looking at their stuff, think I'd like to go 18v 12Ah setup, which can be done with a simple 12/6 series setup and a charger to handle the 18V needs, overnight is probably good with the static battery setup. THey have lots of parts, kits and videos. https://www.mltoys.com/ Now I have lots of EGO 2.5 56v batteries.... Probable be a bit much power wise, but if I could dial down the power a bit with a module the dang thing might run for hours...

Years ago my kids had two power wheels, one was a Jeep. I got out the saw and cut enough room to install a car sized 12v battery, that sure gave the Jeep far more power and length of service between charges. The down side was the extra weight and the smooth plastic tires. It still never suffered when driving on grass.

It varies on battery size and how much juice but for the most part it lasted just as long as the power wheels battery. I have a ton of batteries but I bought 2 ghettobrand 6.0ah batteries off EBay and that gave plenty of juice especially since my charger charged the batteries in 30 minutes. If you are on concrete you’ll rip through tires quick unless you add some rubber to them. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I don't recall if it was mltoys, but similar stuff. This would've been back in around 2015-16 if I had to guess. The Enemy's gate is down.
