I happened to do just that to the last JW that came to my door. It was about 3.5 years ago now, and not once have any of them come back. It really does work.

dwright1951To help with the next day aches and pains, take a couple of Advil/aspirin (anti-inflammatory/pain reliever) today, it will help tomorrow.

henryaz After .5" rain overnight, now is an excellent time to dig around here (rocks, excepted). Otherwise, digging in AZ sucks.
Black, what kind of rock bar are you talking about? I have two, both 6 ft long, about 1.25" hex shaft, both have a point on one end. One has a chisel end on the other end, the other has a round pad for tamping down/packing dirt. I cannot imaging hitting a rock dead on with it. When I find one, I used the pointed end to probe for its edges, then the chisel end to pry it loose. Did I mention I hate digging?

darthfusterI remember when I suffered an age related injury for the first time. I was a fairly athletic young man in my 30's working on my house. All I did was use my head to oppose force and stabilize myself while standing on a step ladder and drilling holes to run some Romex. No big deal. Don't do that very often, but never had a problem using muscle groups differently than usual before. The next day I was sore. The next week found me in a neck brace and checking the next lane with my whole torso. From my perspective now, I should have dreaded what that meant more.

+1 on the Tumeric Curcumin. About a year ago, I had bursitis in my right shoulder so bad I couldn't raise my arm above my waist.
After massive (2400 mg/day) doses of Ibuprofen (by prescription) for two weeks got the inflamation down, I started taking one 500MG capsule of Tumeric per day as part of my regular schedule. Down to an occasional twinge in that shoulder if I overdo things. A good deal of improvement in my knees as well.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

bendablefour years ago Mr. Miller decided to re-roof his 90 y.o. barn,
well it took him 5 months to get it done but by golly , with only four ladders and some hand tools he did it all by himself.
oh he had the stuff delivered and unloaded .
he was 78 years old at the time

Just as you describe. Unfortunately the rocks I have are much too large to chisel around and get out. If I dug them out we'd have a post hole about 3 feet across.
I get to a rock and chip at the edges to bust them up.
Really thinking the impact is what has me so sore.
I am decently fit. Early in the summer loaded and unloaded 2 truck loads of retaining wall blocks, built the wall, then unloaded 2 truck loads of topsoil to backfill, then did 4 truck loads of much.
I was tired after the few days of work but nowhere near sore like this.
Not too bad today though.

AquabirdOP if you feel unusually gassed, maybe you have a medical problem??
I was feeling really, really tired and could do very little without getting completely exhausted and my joints all ached.
Of course I am a senior citizen but have never felt that bad and have always be active and done labor myself.
I went to a Dr. and he said I got bite by a mosquito that gave me Babesiosis. Not sure about the spelling.
That was the cause, it is like West Nile virus.
We just had a death in Ohio due to West Nile.
Might want to get checked out if that is unusual for you?

Not feeling gassed my energy is just fine.
Just really really sore compared to usual manual labor. But I think it was one of those using muscles in a different fashion than usual and not used to such impact that was being sent back thru the rock bar.
Also not really too sore today I was expecting a bit worse. But walked all day at the zoo with one on my shoulders and carrying the other at the same time from time to time. Lifting them up to see over some of the barriers.
