For me, Lynn Anderson has many offerings. But not sure what are covers vs originals.

'Beer Never Broke My Heart'
by Luke Combs

This is the song that started me down the Country Music path. (Yes, I'm a recent convert.)

Okay, so I don’t like country. I like EDM (electronic dance music) and heavy metal.

You want someone who doesn’t like country to start liking it, you need to play something that somewhat resonates with them. The “tear in my beer” kind of country won’t do it.

Here is some country this metalhead, EDM guy likes:

Heartland - George Strait.
Good run of bad luck - Clinnt Black
Seminole Wind - John Anderson
The Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels
Nobody Wins - Radney Foster

There are quite a few more that I actually like, but here are the first ones that come to mind.

Get them to a live show in a bar with an active dance floor. Being around people having a hella good time makes the medicine go down easier.

There’s going to be a mixture of country and old rock favorites playing most likely. Guess what, that’s country too. Steel guitar and crying in your beer is an acquired taste. Like it or don’t bro country is popular because it crosses over to the pop fans.

Hell I thought Alabama was “bro country” before that term was coined. The wife liked dancing to their music and I liked dancing with her. She still thinks I like their music, I still like dancing with her.

I don't know any red-blooded American who doesn't like, or at least appreciate, this one:

Just watch some episodes of Austin City Limits. I wouldn't call myself a country music fan per se, but the talent they've had on that show should convert anyone.

I saw them perform this live about 5 minutes before the song became a big hit. Although I was really waiting to see Heart, I thought to myself, dang, that band is going to go someplace.

Oh no, my choice is no error. Nor does it include country. It also doesn’t include opera, Christmas, rap, and screaming unintelligible words into a microphone.
It’s all yours boys! (And girls)
