Evening to all - turned 81 August 31. Talk by phone to 2 of my 3D ACR buddies in their early 90’s who were Korean War era. One browses this site from time to time.

My gun show buddy was 80 yesterday. His Bday party is Sunday, and I've got to drive/ride way downstate for his party. He's a bit afraid he may not live that long. Me too. There's nothing wrong with him except his age. Me too.

Where are all the young pups like DoubleSharp and Frakes?

Henry Youngman drum roll please.

An old man limped into the doctor's office and said, "Doctor, my knee hurts so bad, I can hardly walk"!

The doctor slowly eyed him from head to toe, paused and then said, "Sir, how old are you"?

"I'm 98", the man announced proudly.

The doctor just sighed, and looked at him again. Finally he said, "Sir, I'm sorry. I mean, just look at you. You are almost one hundred years old, and you're complaining that your knee hurts? Well, what did you expect"?

The old man said, "Well, my other knee is 98 years old too, and it doesn't hurt"!

Badda bing badda boom!

Doctor gave an old man an extended physical and determined the guy had 6 months to live, then found out the old guy was short on funds and couldn't pay the Doctor visit.

So, the Doctor gave him another 6 months to live.

BTW, I'll be 82 in late November.

I go to work and I feel like the old guy.
I come into this thread and I’m feeling quite young at 46. I’ll be 47 in two weeks and two days.

I turned 71 this month.

Before I retired I had a chance to interview some very elderly people. A fun part of the job. I remember one guy in his 90s who had never used Medicare (which is why he drew the attention of SSA - to verify he was still alive.) Absolute perfect health. Said he hadn't seen a doctor in 30 years. He was a Black guy who was a truck driver in the US Army during WW2. He had some unforgettable stories of his military service in Italy during the war. He could have written a book.

Perhaps the most interesting thing he told me was that his mother didn't know exactly when she was born, but the family maintained that she was almost 120 when she died. Who knows if it's true, but he believed it was.
