The ceramic cups from east Asia, usually with the internal basket for steeping tea leaves, are very good. Skip the basket and use the cup with the lid to keep the heat in. Those were my favorite style cups at the office. I also liked the slightly exotic aspect. "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye". I’ve found that French press or perculator is my preferred way to brew. There’s a local roaster that has a 100 plus year old cast iron roaster and they sell beans from all the best regions. I’ve been fortunate to find several beans that are just delicious including Mexican, PNG, Timor, etc and often pick up a pound fresh out of the roaster. The beans are hot to the touch. I’ll hand grind in a burr grinder and then brew away. My coworkers have ditched their Kuregs, Mr Coffees and generously stuff our office coffee fund jar with tens and twentys. We have found that the Farberware electric perculator provides the best balance of taste, capacity, and warming ability. At home it’s French press as I’m the sole consumer. My stainless FP is insulated and keeps it warm.

Don't know if many of you use an AEROPRESS. Great little gadget that makes excellent coffee - there's even a category for in in some Barista competitions. One heaped scoop of it's measure of beans into the grinder and into the Aeropress with water just under boiling and infuse for a couple of minutes over a small china mug before pressing. The kicker is that you just whack out the grounds into the waste and give it a quick rinse with hot water and it's clean. .................................................. My coffee starts at the basic level, green coffee beans, that I roast at home. Our solid favorite is Sumatra beans. We purchased a Behmor roaster, the beans are available for a number of internet suppliers with prices ranging from $6-$7 a pound. Green beans require no special care, other than a dry place to store them. We roast in the garage with the doors open, ( lots of smoke ). It's well worth the effort to have a roast that really like.

My son brought us back some local coffee from Costa Rica, and it is the smoothest, least bitter and acidic coffee I have had since we had some off the plantation in Hawaii. The brewing can only distract or enhance the taste, but the secret is in the bean. Pragmatism: the relentless pursuit of seeing things as they really are.

There is a roaster in LaVerkin, Utah, near UTSigs house, that I'm single handedly keeping in business. I go through bag after bag of his Sumatran roast, made one cup at a time in my trusty Kitchenaid single cup maker. I only use bottled water because the H20 in this area is so hard its almost impossible to filter it down to a '0' level of impurities. I live alone for a reason, I have the combo of beans to bottle just perfect and I don't want to compromise the recipe. ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. I think the OP was just a joke, no? Punchline being you need a cup for the coffee to be in, he’s not actually saying any type of cup, just something to hold it all together. ...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...

I use either a French Press or a vacuum pot. Ceramic cups. Coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc, I don't give eeffoc until my second cup! Thomas Jefferson said that coffee is the Drink of a Civilized Society!

Brewed in a SS percolator over an early morning campfire. Some sugar, some milk and nothing but the sound of a crackling fire and some chirping of some distant birds and an occasional fish breaching the water for some food. There have been times when I was not awake enough to operate the Keurig properly. Forgetting to put one of those pod things in will yield a cup of hot water. Pressing the "go" button with a pod in will brew coffee, whether or not you remember to put a cup under the spout. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
