RC Cola, soda pop prices. Login/Join

Around here at least the inflation on soda pop prices has been insane. Large grocery chain store by my house now selling Cocal Cola and Pepsi for $2.99 for a 2 liter bottle and $12.99 for 24 pack of cans. Our familiy's choice of beverage is Coca Cola. I don't drink much myself as usually prefer water with a dash of organge juice in it.

So the other day I was in nearby local Woodmans grocery mega store near me and saw they still are selling RC Cola for 99 cents for a 2 liter bottle so I picked some up. Got a little grumbling from a family member but they went quiet when I asked if they wanted to pitch in for the Cocoa Cola price difference. Roll Eyes

Anyhow I now recall that I like RC Cola and even prefer it to Pepsi. Interesting they have been able to hold the 99 cent price point, the 2 liter bottle has 99 cent price logo on it, while Pepsi and Coca Cola have doubled in price.

Trying to save a few nickels where I can. Smile

I noticed this, too. THREE BUCKS for a 2 liter of Diet Dr. Pepper. I remember when they were a buck a piece when on sale a couple of years ago.

Uugh. I'll switch to beer. It's pricier, but at least I get more out of it.

I'm not paying nearly triple for a name. RC Cola, as well as the "store brand" soft drinks, is just fine, better, even. Oddly, in the last few days, there hasn't been any of either on the store shelves (only two stores, so a small sample). Hopefully this is just temporary.

Nope. Diet Dr. Thunder is NOT the same as the real deal.

Always liked it. Bought it regularly due to the price when the budget required it in my younger years. The only negative is some stores do not move it fast so bottles can go a little flat. Oh, and no decent diet version.

Well…this right here. But to be entirely accurate, even Dr. Pepper isn’t “the real deal” of my youth. Stupid HFCS…… Mad Mad

Perhaps this will start to increase the popularity of those DIY soda making machines at home. They could market them as a way to capture CO2 emissions. Smile

Woodmans also had a big display on Moon Pies too and pretty cheap I think? I will pick some up next time. I usually go there at least twice a week. They also carry a cookie and snack line "Craven" brand and love that too with there big bag of Oreo knock off cookies are only $2.49 vs $5.00 for Oreos and the whole family agrees at least as good.

Is this a decent deal on Moon Pie?

I prefer RC over the rest. I saw it priced at $1.19 for a 2 liter bottle yesterday while grocery shopping. I've limited my soda intake and it's usually a struggle to finish before it goes flat.

I was at a boutique grocery store around the corner from my house last night. The price increases were considerable. $5.00 for one can of Chunky soup. $4.89 for a gallon of milk.

I quit buying them to take home. I have one about once a week, eating out.

With the prices for eating out, that will likely end as well.

Kroger used to sell a four pack of Mexican Coca Cola at five dollars. IF they have any on the shelf it is now seven forty nine.

A Moon Pie, is an American snack, popular across much of the United States, which consists of two round graham cookies, with marshmallow filling in the center, dipped in a flavored coating. The snack is often associated with the cuisine of the American South, where they are traditionally accompanied by an RC Cola.

We used to wait to buy soda when it went on sales. 10 2 liter for 9.99 was the price we waited for. Now the best we've seen in months is 3 for 4.50.

Must be something common to all with Flash in their names. I've never had a moon pie either, don't even know what it is.

And I also don't drink soda pop, cokes in general as my Dad called them. Don't like the aftertaste I get with them.

OTOH, beer hasn't gone up very much in price.

Need a definition of "flavored coating " please.

I hear about moon pies on the young Sheldon TV show.

I thought it was a term of endearment involving the moon .

Root beer rules,
I miss it
