I'll make the wild guess Stormy didn't get a second opinion on whatever deal she signed with Avenatti. So, if that deal includes his having claim to anything above whatever public GoFundMe-like pool he raised for her, then she may actually owe him some money. I can see her not having to go out of pocket for it, but I wouldn't be surprised is she signed something that gives him some of whatever kind of legal settlement she may get from others.

What a delight it is to know that there are people in the world whose character is such that every interaction you have with them must be witnessed by independent parties, recorded with audio and video, and all conversations summarized and notarized. The guy is slime.

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who became well-known as the lawyer for Stormy Daniels and an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, has been charged with extortion and wire fraud in an alleged plot to extort Nike. He also faces fraud charges in two other cases.

Prosecutors said in a court filing on Wednesday that a grand jury in New York had returned a superseding indictment which charges Avenatti with three counts: Transmission of Interstate Communications With Intent To Extort, Extortion, and Wire Fraud.

A second lawyer who was previously referred to as a co-conspirator was not indicted and two conspiracy charges against Avenatti were dropped. The grand jury, however, added one count of wire fraud for depriving his client of honest services. If convicted on all charges, Avenatti could face decades in prison.

Responding to Wednesday’s indictment, Avenatti said he was “extremely pleased” that the two conspiracy counts were dropped. “I expect to be fully exonerated when it’s all said and done,” he said in a message sent to BNO News on Twitter. In a second tweet, Avenatti claimed that the case is “considerably weaker” without the conspiracy charges.

Michael Avenatti, a lawyer who gained fame by representing a porn star in lawsuits against President Donald Trump, was convicted Friday of trying to extort sportswear giant Nike.

The verdict was returned Friday by a Manhattan federal jury after it deliberated charges of attempted extortion and honest services fraud in what prosecutors say was an attempt by Avenatti to extort up to $25 million from Nike with threats to otherwise harm it. The charges carry a combined potential penalty of 42 years in prison.

Avenatti still faces two more prosecutions : one in New York for defrauding client Stormy Daniels of $300k; and another in California for fraud, embezzlement, tax crimes and perjury.

I like the fact that the Feds rescinded his bond and he has been in jail while waiting for his trials. Breaks my heart. NOT!
