mr kablammoI have stumbled upon a decent progression for an evening's sipping...
1. Old Grand Dad
2. Tullamore Dew
3. Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt
The flavors build. Lagaluvin or Laphroig could make the fourth.

arabiancowboyBK- I bought a bottle of Springbank 15 (Campbeltown) based on seeing them in your regular line up; I must say its not to my liking. I was expecting sherried flavor based on online reviews and was instead greeted with vinegar. Did I buy a lemon or is this an acquired taste?

Lets meet up. I'll offer a trade. I have actually yet to try Springbank 15, but have trued the 12, and was bought a bottle of 15 Green this last weekend (1 of 9000 bottles) and I must say it was quite tasty!

Well, my friend, I'd have to say that you either got a bad bottle
or the whisky just ain't to your liking. Refer to my earlier post about adding water to your whisky and letting the dram breathe (your palate might require a little water and patience).
Mind you, owing to the distillery's locale, Springbank does have a bit of brine on the palate, but that flavor hardly manifests as vinegar?
I'd have to sample a dram or two to be sure about all of this, man. PM me for my delivery information. As a courtesy to a fellow member, I'm willing to examine that whisky for free.
