There are many really great reds from the Rioja district.

When I was working in Barcelona, my Spanish co-workers introduced me to the one that became my favorite: Viña Tondonia Reserva.

Thank you, Mr. V-Tail, I'll ask my local "wine pusher" if that's available.

She started me trying some Portuguese reds a few months ago, and that led to Spanish reds just this month. Two Rioja versions tried; two liked. Smile

ETA: I found that wine on Vivino... If my contact can't get it, I can certainly order it.

God bless America.

My NYE libation. One of my favorites, it’s made from the Gamay grape and similar to Pinot Noir. Very drinkable

Doubling up tonight, 2 glasses of cabernet sauvignon around dinner then a couple shots of my go to bourbon around 10. (I doubt I'll make it to midnight).

A popular drink in Brazil, called Caipirinha, was described as being very good.

Tried at many bars to get one made to no avail.
So I Bought Leblon Cachaca Rum to make my own.

It looked very appealing, but after trying it, not my thing.

Ended up making my own version of a "Rum Collins" instead. The 1st attempt was with Realemon & Realime juices. Eh, it was ok. Using real fruit instead on the 2nd try was so much better.

I'm not a drinker, so this bottle will last a long time.

A friend was very generous and shared what the beer aficionados say is the number one rated beer in the world. I wish my palate could determine all the various ingredients, but alas, all I can say is it was an amazing drink.

I've tried a few of those. Mostly good, not necessarily something I'd ask for. Similar but different is the Caipiroska, which I liked a lot more.

I'm way curious about that! Care to share how you make it?

I’ve had them at Fogo de Chao and remember them being pretty good, kind of like South America’s take on a Mojito

I'd have to say you're right, similar, but without mint.

Bloody Mary.

Mr.& Mis. T Spicy mix, with a couple of splashes of Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and MP sauce, a little Greek seasoned salt.

A shot of vodka and a shot of blended scotch ( Four Freedoms blended scotch whiskey, it was on sale for a good price so I thought I'd give it a try ).

The scotch is pretty good as a mixer.

Pretty good and tasty.
