Brought back a few bottles from the recent trip to Germany. Tonight I'm breaking open a Kilchoman 100% Islay whisky.

vthokyPicked up a small bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for the weekend events.
While I was there, the ABC store manager pointed out they had Bookers. The operative word was "had." Four bottles on hand at 9am, all disappeared by noon. Oh, well... it's a hundred bucks, and more than I need to spend on bourbon right now.
Not far away from that empty spot, however, I noticed Baker's Bourbon.
(link) I was tempted, but didn't buy it. Anyone familiar with it?

konata88Opened a bottle of Dassai 45 (Japanese sake). Mild, amakuchi (sweeter side) with nice fruit notes. Cheaper side - great value ($40/750mL). Really hit the spot after working my way through idiots on the road today; never got pissed or mad but they sure soured my mood.

Quite a coincidence. I was at the HEB Central Market looking at desert wines. A gentleman sidled up and examined the stock of sake. I asked which that he was looking for. He said the Dassai 23 or Dassai 32. I think it was 32. Yes, 32. He said that it was best the tasting sake that he ever had.
I bought a Lucky Dog mini-box sake, and a Royal Tokaj Late Harvest.
For tonight, a Lagunitas Maximus and Squatters DIPA.

I got a bottle of High West High Country Single Malt gifted to me by a friend. Haven’t cracked it open yet, but plan to.
Any experience?
