Your Sam Adams Octoberfest is going to be jealous....

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Over the past several months, I've become very fond of port wines. 10 year old tawny ports. I've had quite a bit of experience with these three: Fonseca, Taylor Fladgate, and Dow's. The Fonseca is a bit sweeter than I prefer, but the other two are excellent. And yesterday evening I alternated glasses of the Taylor Fladgate and Dow's. Heaven!

Dang. That one's on my wish list. Very highly rated, with a price to match.

A Manhattan, made with Bulleit rye and Cinzano Rosso Antico. No bitters here, unfortunately, nor maraschino cherries.

Best regards,

I have not had this Octoberfest before and it is awesome! It is the Leinenfiugel’s Harvest Patch Shandy so I guess it is truly not their Octoberfest, but I love it.
