I thought the only bottle of hard liquor I had left in the house was Sailor Jerry's (I'm moving soon so I haven't been replenishing the liquor or wine cabinet), but was pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of El Jimador Tequila Reposado.
Looks like palomas are in my future.

jhe888A gimlet. Gin (Beefeater) with Rose's lime juice over ice. About 4:1. Cool and tart for summer.

How does this compare or contrast with Laphroaig's regular 10 year old?

The Cask Strength is more pungent, smokier, saltier and has a higher alcohol content. The ABV for Batch 6 is 58% (standard Laphroaig 10 is typically 40% or 43% ABV).
Damned fine whisky.

Recently picked up a bottle of this. Very impressive value.
Slumming it tonight with some Bullit.
Ha. Hardly slumming it, besides - as you may know already - they're both made at/by Four Roses anyway, contract distilled for the Bulleit folks, the only non-Four Roses whiskey made at/by FR.
I'm having the 10yo Bulleit tonight, actually.
Four Roses Small Batch is pretty good, though I prefer their Single Barrel in the OBSV mash.

Balzé HalzéTrying something new tonight. A bit of High West whiskey, slightly less of some Jimador Reposado tequila, a tad bit of simple syrup, Ginger beer, and a splash of lime juice. Mixed together and served with ice. Damn good.
