2PAKCASIO G SHOCK ADVICE
I have two G-Shocks, a Mudmaster (module #5463) that I bought at a G Shock store in Manila, Philippines a few months ago and DW-5600E-1VCT). Great watches.

jack32586I wear a Solar titanium Pathfinder everyday. Can't tell you how much I love it. Wife asked me if I wanted a Rolex when I retire... I said no I want a G-Shock MRGG1000HT Hammer Tone.

hunter62I had a G-Shock for a good 8 years or so. I took it to a reputable jeweler in my area when the battery died and the next time I wore it in the shower water pours in and ruined the watch. I took it back to the jeweler and they tell me no watch is waterproof (I get that) and this was just an old watch. After arguing with them I got a refund on the batteries only, come to find out they charged me for two batteries, the watch only had one. Never went back to that store again.
Sorry, still bitter about that. Long story longer, my next watch was sold to me by Dave Truong
Dave, if/when you get these let me know. I am looking to get one of these.

ElToroi have a DW9052 i think its the basic manly one. my 10 year old wears one as well. picked them up for like $40 on AMZN. I wear it on vacation and when beating around the yard. its in the watch case next to some decent seikos mechanicals and a pair of rolexes.
I like the mudman and range-masters. not sure if i would open the wallet for one of the super high dollar ones for a fancy digital watch. there are a few i would go to the 100-200 range for

M-11Was thinking of getting the Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A...maybe I'll think a little longer, just in case.

Pale HorseI won one of the solar ones from a karma on here several years ago. The solar cells were bad (the person giving it away fully disclosed that) so I sent it to Casio to get those replaced. Eight months later they failed again. Casio wanted money again because they said the cells were only warranted for 6 months.
However I bought a battery powered model after that to wear while coaching football and baseball. It’s taken a lot of hits over the years and been rock solid.
So I like the G-Shock but I’ll not buy another solar model.

syboGREAT watches!! I have three and Will be buying more, from you I hope!! I LOVE my Solar models!!

CD228I own several in the $59-$89 range, the 7500 or 6900 I think. they are like the Glock of watches; durable, affordable, reliable, replaceable, great EDC, functional, but it won't raise eyebrows at the range. I used them for diving, deployment, worn them on fire and EMS calls with out an issue. I have had two of their rubber watch bands crack on me, but that was after over 10 years of use in the above mentioned environments. the new bands can be a pain to put on, but you only do it once in a while.
The issue you will have with the G shocks is matching prices with every big box and E-vendor selling them.

UTsigMy Seamaster died and instead of spending hundreds to fix it a I bought a G-Shock Military GA-100. I'm liking it but only have it for a month.
99% of my wear is outdoors activity, no need for anything fancy. I bought an orange one because I like color. All I wanted was a watch with an analog dial, the extra stuff does not interest me.

RightwireBack in the day I tried a lot of watches. One good structure fire, two tops and they were toast. The G Shocks would last for years.

JDHunzI’ve got three: G2300B, DW6900 and my current GA1000.
Not concerned that some consider them ugly...I consider some people ugly.
Dave if you carry them, I’ll be tempted to buy a fourth.

I have a very old G-Shock Solar that is around 15 years old. The watch still works really well but I had to replace the band after it broke. The band on this watch was polymer. I went for the cheap easy replacement using nylon.
The only negative I can mention is the AM/PM font is very small and not as easy to read as when I first bough this watch.

FusterncI have a solar atomic GShock watch that I only use as my beach, swimming, cycling watch and it has been bulletproof for the last 8 years.
That said, I much prefer my analog watches for everyday wear.

ftttuIf you do, get nutnfancy a running line of credit because he purchases so many.
I have a G-Shock (GW-300 2608), which is 14-15 years old and a Pro Trek Pathfinder(PAW-1100 3043), which is about 10 years old, and they are both going strong as ever. Since they are so rugged and never need a battery change, you just wear and forget.
The negative about them for a dealer is that since they are so rugged, they don't need to be replaced.

Johnny 3eaglesI have 3 Casio G-Shock watches. I only wear the last one I bought in 2016. It is the Casio Men's PRW-3500-1CR Atomic Resin Digital Watch. Large watch, but solar powered and atomic makes it perfect for accuracy and never need to replace the battery! But mostly, I wear my Luminox.

Loaded RoundI have an MTG-1000 and a GST-W110D-1AJF.
They are both fantastic watches.

YooperSigsI have a couple. Rugged and accurate. And priced right if you shop around.
Problems:
1-They last forever. Which makes buying more hard to justify. Like Sig pistols. But I have overcome that.
2- The watch can last forever but the bands do not. I lost one overboard once when the band let go as I was bringing in a fish I had just caught. I bet it is still running in the deep.
3- Ugly. Bulky. They are. But the durability makes them beautiful.
If Dave decides to sell them, that's where I will buy them in future.

Ronin101I love them. I work in corrections and my first one was solar and atomic and I wore it for 16 years. No battery replacement. the strap never wore out. Not bad for a 35.00 dollar clearance.
My current rangemaster I have had for 4. Although I haven't used the altimeter barometer and thermometer it has! great watches. There are collecters out there as well. Some Japanese models would be cool. I would stay away from the cheaper models!!!
