SIGforum.comMain PageThe Lounge Those with iPhones, how long do you have your screen auto lock set for? Just curious. Android owners welcome! I'm not an apple snob. ;)
On my bike rides, I set it to never so I can watch my progress on my exercise app. Then I set it back to 2 minutes....which I think is the default time.
Just curious how yours are set and any particular reasons? This message has been edited. Last edited by: 6guns,

Three minutes, but when I leave the house, I change it to thirty seconds.
In the highly unlikely event I drop my phone while it's unlocked and don't notice, someone will have only half a minute to retrieve it and try to do anything with it.
3 minutes. Any time I’m not actively on it for something I automatically lock the screen.

This is the reason I keep mine set to 1 minute. A fast lock time allows very little time for someone to access the phone if I lose and leave it unattended.
The Company I worked for required very short lock times for computers for these same security concerns. With over 25K employees, incidents did happen that forced this policy.

One of the folks I work for I swear has his set to not lock. How else can you explain the couple times per month butt dials? That's not even a thing anymore in most of the real world....

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
