Having been born & raised in San Diego, I'm heading East at the request of my employer.

Movers packed us up yesterday & today loaded the semi-truck. Day 1 of our drive gets us to Las Cruces New Mexico heading to Austin then New Orleans. Looking forward to visiting real gun stores & trying new foods along the way.

Family & Friends keep asking how it feels to be out of CA. I've always fought, make that voted against what I think is bad policy & bad politicians - CA is a beautiful place.

Im excited to be relocating in North Carolina!!

Congratulations from escaping your confines! May your freedom ring!

My daughter and her hub are moving from the Houston area to Charlotte next month. I’ve watched many videos on the city and area, and we may want to follow now.

We’ll caravan out there next month, and while there, we’ll check out the area a little closer.

NC has a great deal of natural beauty. I have been to the western corner fairly extensively, and the coast and Outer Banks (where the Wright Bros. made their first flight) once. Some day I want to make the drive spanning the entire width of the state from Murphy to Manteo (US 64, some 550 miles).

Welcome to NC! I'm just outside of Charlotte. Do you know the area you'll be living in?

Hyatts Gun Shop should be on your list. There are many others too, but Hyatts has a large selection.

Charlotte is like a whole country. I hope you can live there in a rental home for a while, to discern the optimum area.

My wife from San Diego enjoyed living in the area with me, in Shelby NC just west of Charlotte. We loved living there.

There is a great church there...https://www.calvarychurch.com...very large. And, of course, many medium and smaller churches. There is also a multi-site church https://foresthill.org that we attended.

NASCAR will consume you, if you want. And, you can consume all the BBQ anyone could eat. Golf? Almost like a church service.

Enjoy!

As long as you like it "vinegary"-flavored.

It’s going to be different! I lived in SoCal for more than half my life and moved to IN 20 years ago. It took some getting used to… I have 2 gun safes now!

If I was trying to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time I would try to avoid driving through Austin. But that’s just me.

Congratulations, yes CA is a beautiful place, San Diego being one of my favorite places to visit.

Take your time as much as possible driving across the US, pick up some interesting places to see, don't forget to stop at Cadillac Ranch outside of Amarillo TX on the way, get some brisket in Austin and there are plenty of good places outside of Franklins, hit Pat O'Briens for a Hurricane in the French Quarter

Plenty of other places to hit on the way depending on how you go...

Congratulation on your escape from Cali and relocation to what is arguably one of the best states to live in.

We moved here a few years ago and really like the seasonal weather and friendly people. We live about 2 hours from the Charlotte area.
