DF, I'm so sorry for your loss. I saw this thread pop back up and was hoping for a good update, but was fearful for the worst. I've been staring at a blinking cursor for a few minutes trying to think of something helpful to type, I can't think of a thing, other than a lame "sorry for your loss."

Prayers for you, your family, and especially your granddaughter.

Oh, DF. My heart goes out to your family. I have watched addiction take control and change a person. Remember and cherish the darling little boy you and your wife raised. I’m so very sad for your family’s loss.

Thank you all for your kindness. His social worker said our emotions would cycle. She was right. I slept better than I expected last night but woke up empty. I don't want to make this about me though. It's just hard processing reality right now.

So very sorry. My sister lost her son to drugs. All that I really learned is the tremendous impact it has on a family. Hope his daughter brings you comfort.
