Just to add about how I use Cyonara 9.7 Insecticide ... I use it about once (sometimes twice) a year around the house. Mostly I spay beneath the house in the crawl space and I try to create a barrier at the foundation wall and extending a foot or two away in the grass. Sometimes I will just respray the crawlspace foundation wall and lawn barrier space after several months. Do what you feel comfortable with and as often as you think you need, based on pest observation.

I don't spray inside the house often at all. I have once or twice over the years but that's it. I guess the spray in the crawl space and the barrier is quite enough.

Also when I mix the Cyonara in water in the pump sprayer, I mix a "knock down" strength rather than an every 3-4 months maintenance strength. I mix one(1) ounce of Cyonara with a gallon of water. Maybe why I'm only seeing a need to use it 9months-1yr at a time maybe. I'm amazed at the residual strength of this stuff. It hangs around and "gets 'em" for a long time. And I buy the 32oz size and last time a few years ago, that size was less than $35. Haven't priced it lately. I use it for ant beds in the yard too, a couple of times a year and use the same strength. One ounce to a gallon.

The literature that comes with Cyonara lists pests and product strength required to control those pests. The toughest ones are listed as requiring a mixture strength of 1oz Cyonara to a gallon water, so that is what I use for all my spraying needs.

The jug of Cyonara has two caps on top. I've found that I only need to remove the cap on the side that has the measurement space. First I shake the Cyonara up because it's been sitting some time, then remove the cap on the measurement side and squeeze the bottle until product runs up into the measurement space. Once measured to the desired level, it's poured into the pump sprayer. Then I add a gallon of water, close the pump sprayer tightly and shake it to distribute the solution. I've never removed the other cap on the bottle of Cyonara.

It really is easy to do your own pest control and safe as long as precautions are followed. Always read all the literature that comes with any pest control product. Don't be that guy that never reads the instructions. After all this is at or near commercial grade "industrial" strength stuff that KILLS things.

There are many solutions out there for DIY pest control but for almost 20yrs, Cyonara 9.7 has worked flawlessly for me here in Lower Alabama.

I'm no expert on pest control. I've only used this one product on this one house with tremendous results. Maybe those with vast knowledge and experience will read my post and think what a moron I am. Dunno, but if my post needs to be "torn apart" I certainly hope they will do so.

My arsenal for do it yourself pest control.

There once stood a 1500sqft virtually abandoned house next to mine. It was a health hazard and had a bad bug and rat infestation.

I tossed the Contrac Blox into the crawlspace openings around the house. The very next day, a HUGE Norway RAT lay dead between my house and that house. So I KNOW those Contrac Blox work.

Thing is though, I used to see squirrels go into and out of those crawlspace openings from time to time. Then one day I saw a squirrel near the crawl space wall and it was acting VERY ill and loopy. Think I may have inadvertently gotten a squirrel by accident. I felt bad about that. There is no mention of squirrels on the bucket nor is it intended for squirrel control that I know of. But anyway, the Contrac Blox seem to work rather well for rats.

I wear thin Latex disposable gloves when handling those Blox.

I ended up buying that house and property. Tore the house down and cleared and fenced the property. Problem solved.

OH ... and for Wasp nests this is the best stuff I've found. Knocks 'em down right now on contact.

It comes out in a stream, not a spray and why it works up to 20 ft away. Need to have a visual on the nest. Whereever you point and "shoot" is going to get wet with the stuff. I don't press and hold the dispenser button, short bursts are adequate. Especially as you learn to aim and "shoot".

Bengal makes several products and one of which is a spray, but not this one. This is a streamer. I get it at the grocery store.

As far as rodenticides go, Contrac is OK, not great. Yes it kills, but it takes its sweet time and allows the mice or rats to make quite a mess. I swear that stuff is part laxative. Lots and lots of bluish green droppings. A far superior product is First Strike. Quick knockdown without any increased risk over Contrac for non target animals. At least not in my experience. Both require an ingestion of approximately 10% of animals body weight to get to lethal dose.
