I'm in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), and a male member of our squadron tonight announced on Facebook that, in his words: "I discovered (or rather, admitted to myself) that I am a transgender woman."

He has taken a female name and will be changing his appearance and dress to that of a woman (not sure if that includes surgery). His FB page is replaced by her FB page, which includes photos of her in a wig and makeup.

He's putting in the paperwork to make his change official as far as CAP (USAF Auxiliary), so I assume he will or already has changed other legal documents.

Oh, and there's a wife and 3 sons who are all happy for him and proud.

To say I'm surprised is an understatement. I don't know what else to say except the next few CAP meetings/events will certainly be interesting.

I'm not going to be judgmental because I simply can't relate to this.

It's amazing how much the Left has conditioned people in this country to say what they think they are supposed to say to avoid being ostracized or bullied by the Left.

The husband/dad needs serious psychiatric counseling. The problem is no one is going to tell him and, even if they did, no psychiatric professional is likely to give him the help he needs.

On the radio here a parent was talking about a number of parents from my state that had to go to Arizona to find real help for their kids. Things are getting real Weimar at an alarming speed.

Here, today, as we speak, I know four transgender people who have been successfully obscure. Normal trans people, do not wish attention.

It is disappointing that people who believe they are "enlightening" us or "furthering the agenda" need to ruin it for folks who just want to disappear.


The idea that being trans is mental illness, I can't quibble with that. Perhaps it is. The problem with that idea, is the perception that mental illness is uncommon.

Someone who is transgender, just wants to live their life quietly, not unlike you or I. Until they are a political activist and can be used as a pawn in identity politics.

Frankly, I view trans people the same way I view socialists, muslims, or christians. You do you, and leave me alone, and I will afford you the same courtesy.

Anybody that thinks they are something they were not physically born as is mentally ill - there is no other reason. The vast majority of men have non disputable, physical proof they were born male. I can think all I want that I’m a 5’6” hot blonde but I’m not - I’m a 6’ 270 pound man and no matter what I think it doesn’t change that.

If they leave me alone I honestly don’t care if it doesn’t affect me. But, the majority of LBGTQ’s I know (including my step sister) feel the need to impose their lifestyle on everyone. Even more than that they want unequal treatment, yes, they want better treatment than the rest. They should have special privileges due to what they think they are. I will say I have worked with two homosexual women who never pushed their agenda but that was 20 years ago and i believe it would be different today. My company sponsors an LBGTQ group and felt the need to praise on our company wide intraweb a male engineer who thinks he’s a woman. I’ve yet to see them praise someone glad to be heterosexual.

I’ve known a few transgender folks. The ones I knew were all male to female. One guy/ very low key, hurting no one, minding their own.
The most recent: attention whore, unpleasant and manipulative. Has a family, I believe 1 of whom has disowned (pretty sure it was more based on the bullying, manipulative behavior and not the sex change).

I admit I’m uneducated as far as Q. In all honesty, why wouldn’t you just call yourself B until a decision is made. Doesn’t that cover it (I’m genuinely asking, not trying to piss anyone off or offend).

I don’t think he should be attacked for his obvious mental illness but I agree that if he shouldn’t be piloting any more than somebody that decides they identify as a can of soup or Napoleon. There is something seriously wrong upstairs with these folks.

I don't get this. Why would you do this when you still have kids in the house? If I decided I felt more like myself as a woman, I would wait until the kids are grown at least. If I were one of the kids I would quit all sports and any activity that the parents would normally come view and pray to God none of my classmates found out. Maybe would even just drop out of school all together.

I am glad for his wife accepting his mental disorder. bit feel really bad for her. First off she overnight became a lesbian, I am sure she didn't expect to become lesbian midlife. If I were her I would quit all social activities and become a shut-in so I wouldn't have to talk to people ever again.

I feel sorry for his family, he's lucky they are willing to play make believe. I think it's weird as fuck but would have no problems with it at all, if not for the collateral damage. Hopefully he's got good insurance so wife and kids can afford the counseling they will need.

One thing I didn't mention is that guy & wife are liberal Trump haters. Surprise!

A couple of additional points:

1. He posted that he's always felt “off” and not quite properly fitted for the world. He says he got diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger’s about a year ago. This is also a surprise. He appears to be very articulate and intelligent, and in fact performs on stage.

2. He is not a pilot.

3. He & his wife went thru some type of counseling a year ago. About that time his wife changed her 1st & middle names.

4. Yes, he's a good person, involved in various causes for the "underprivileged." For example, he was one of the directors of an effrt that raised funds to buy or build a mobile shower trailer, to take to around Charoltte and all ow the homeless to bathe. He said to help them get back some dignity.

5. Yes, on a weekly basis I work and interact with this person.
