Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., criticized Trump, saying he was using the Justice Department as his "personal attack dog" to go after his political opponents.

Hochul wrote on X. "What we're seeing today is nothing less than the weaponization of the Justice Department to punish those who hold the powerful accountable."

Yea, well your side set the standard, and now it is being applied to you.
Notice, not a single one of them said she didn't commit fraud.

I heard on talk radio today that she signed an affadavit stating Virginia would be her primary residence despite she was AG in Albany, lived in Albany, and her job required her to live in Albany. IME, most 2nd homes are a higher interest rate than primary home so I'm assuming she did it to get lower interest rate for the 2nd home she was purchasing for her niece.

Speaking of her niece, the news reports that the niece has a history of child abuse, burglary, and drug possession in Virginia and North Carolina and is currently violating her parole.

James was pro-legal attacks on Republicans. Well time for her to enjoy being the defendant.

Her new name is Karma.

Not because it is karma she's getting but because karma is a bitch.

If she gets a conviction and loses her law license, she can take up acting and play James Earl Jones' role as Thulsa Doom in a Conan the Barbarian sequel.

This isn't ridiculing her looks, only that she resembles this character.

The indictment is great, but a conviction is, unfortunately, a very tall order. The jury pool will come from very deep blue northern Virginia. Its not going to be easy to find 12 jurors willing to convict. Not to mention that the judge who was "randomly assigned" the case is, I believe, a Biden appointee.
I would gladly accept a jury assignment to sit at her trial. Unfortunately, I have zero chance of being selected due to age, and other factors.

NoVA still has many more than 12 right-minded residents so there is a chance at sitting an impartial jury whose verdict should be obvious. Maybe not a slam dunk, but the chance is much better than if the trial were to be held in NY, MA, CA, etc.

Probably the best we can see will be a hung jury. Then she could be tried again. Wink

I saw an interview or analysis of this case by the forensic accountant who discovered it and was an apparent whistle blower. He said the facts of the case and records make what should be a slam dunk. He said DT didn't do this to LJ, he did.

I'm sure if the exact scenario involved a republican, leftys would be all for prosecution. If a case wasn't brought when a whistle blower brought forth evidence, they'd be screaming to high heaven.

I guess my question is, when will there be a superseding indictment for the "5-unit" Brooklyn apartment building? That's as solid a case as any of the others.

The "forensic accountant" mentioned above actually found that one first.

I'd rather be on Comey's jury, but being on Karma's jury would be almost as satisfying.

He said the case she's been charged with is just the beginning of her problems.

I think the multi-unit bldg's designation could be pinned on the appraiser. If he's long out of business or dead, it will be pinned on him. If he's still around, his testimony could be everything.

“Pam Bondi was blindsided when the President's newly minted federal prosecutor, Lindsey Halligan, took an indictment against New York Attorney General Letitia James straight to a grand jury.

The former beauty queen, who took over Virginia's Eastern District just two weeks ago, went completely rogue, ditching any coordination with the attorney general or her team, according to reports.

James was indicted on bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution. She has been under investigation for mortgage fraud since May over documents she filed to help her niece buy a home in Virginia.

Halligan did tell at least one Justice Department official that she was planning on moving forward with charging James, but ended up presenting the case alone to a grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia on Thursday, according to CNN.

Previous reports suggest that Bondi and her Deputy Attorney Todd Blanche viewed the mortgage fraud case against James as weak.

However, Trump demanded the DOJ move forward with its prosecution by dismissing Halligan’s predecessor, former US Attorney Erik Sibert, for not indicting James. …”

You realize that The DM has plenty of leftist writers whose purpose is to manufacture division among Trump’s officials? That garbage article, and they have revised it again, is just one of many examples. Not worth wasting our SF space, imo.
