One thing for sure - after seeing Gorsuch in his first term as a Justice, I trust whatever process the president used to select him.
Note that Hardiman and Pryor were in the final 3 when Gorsuch got the nod. Pryor is on the record on Roe and strongly opposed it and gay marriage - that would be a massive fight for confirmation.

Pryor was one of those who drew massive opposition from the cabal of Senators, Kennedy, Leahy, Biden, et al who would not permit confirmation of anyone to the Federal bench who had “firmly held views,” the euphemism back then for pro life.
The euphemism now is “respect for precedence.”

jhe888I think most any of them will be fine, unless they go off the rails, which you can't predict, by definition.
Pick a young one. Look at Thomas, nominated and confirmed quite young, and still going strong. By some measures, he is the most conservative justice.

IndyRobI don't know if it will matter but Barrett is from Indiana, as is our Vice President.
She would make a great Supreme Justice IMO.

deepoceanCollins is already saying she is against anyone who does not support stare decicis. Combined with the past rumors of her being against Roe, she may line up to vote against Barrett. Collins idea of a good pick and our idea of a good pick are unlikely to align in most cases.

The details of his short sale are certain to come up again. Even if the FEC cleared him, the optics are awkward. What is the advantage for the President to choose him in place of a better qualified candidate? If Lee plays so well with Schumer, leave him in the Senate.
Fortunately for our Country, Lee went after Trump before the election and disappointed him several times afterwards. He's a filler name on the list to distract attention away from the real nominee. I don't see a chance of the President nominating him.
