Any rising stars or solid performers we should be looking at?

Or:

Anyone we should be avoiding?

I'll be bullet voting, again.

It would be great to know who is NOT in Wayne's pocket, but I suspect they all are. Frown

It seems in recent years that there have been candidates who have been presented as someone who would challenge the status quo (AKA WLP). Who would this be this year? Or is it the case that the internicene struggles for NRA control have eliminated any dissenters? As a long time member (Benefactor Life/Golden Eagle), the most disconcerting thing is that it is almost impossible to get this information. I have this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that the NRA board has abandoned its most ardent supporters in the rank and file for its own internal "real politick." This does not do any of us any good.

What if thousands/millions of NRA members were to write in Ollie North as their sole director vote? Damn! I know it is not going to happen, but I sure would like to see it!

As I understand the way folks are nominated to run for NRA board, the committee that chooses nominees is composed of 6 members from the present board and 3 non directors board Life members. Not sure how the Life members are chosen to be on this rarified committee but I suspect from the board. With this type of balance does anyone believe that WLP will not be retained? Plus only 25 of the 76 board members are ever up for election in a given year so any attempt at change would have to happen over a 3 year period with a large number of dissident members being on the board to select nominating committee members. Kids, this ain't goin' to happen. WLP is a shoe in unless he resigns (fat chance from a gravy position like that) or is somehow prosecuted for high crimes against humanity.

Yep, that’s why my ballot letters went right into the trash.

Until Wayne is gone the NRA will be on the back-burner for me.

I'd like to know who isn't in WLP's pocket as well, hence this post. Trashing a ballot is defeatist and serves no purpose in my mind if it's even remotely possible to help the situation by voting for possible spoilers.

Now, does anyone know any of these guys or not? Razz

I'd also like to know if there are any on the ballot that aren't in Wayne's pocket. But the description of the nomination process leads me to believe that is wishful thinking.

I am voting for 1 candidate.
Anthony Colandro. I have meet him several times, from taking lessons from him, to participating in anti gun control protests.
He regularlly puts his money where his mouth is, funding new shooter instruction, allowing womens groups to use his range free of charge for firearm instruction for girls and women.
He has personally funded busses to bring people to Trenton for protests.

I think he is the real deal.

Over on S&W Forum there is a fella goes by the handle of Cajunlawyer. He has been on there since 2005 with over 15000 post and he has put himself up for a write-in for the NRA Board.
I have wrote him in. AS a new comer he might just be his own man.
Check him out for yourself over on S&W forum.

Also, Dean Cain, aka Superman is on the ballot.

Is there any way for members outside the ruling body to run for he board (ie, not preselected by the committee)?

Edit: Never mind. I just saw the post above mine.

Like I told the gal on the phone. Not another penny til WLP is gone. Nothing less. Voting is meaningless while he is still in the org. I will not be screwed over again.

I am a long time NRA member. I also voted for Cajun Lawyer. He is the only one I voted for. I am tired of never anything form NRA board members except to read about how pro gun they are on the ballot. I think if Cajun Lawyer gets elected, he might at least keep us informed about what is going on with the NRA Board.
