I bought this Cuisinart coffee grinder a month or two ago and am very pleased with it. The adjustable grind, and amount works very well. I like getting up in the morning, grinding a fresh potful of whole beans (the aroma is amazing). The taste of fresh ground brewed coffee is excellent. Who else here enjoys grinding their own coffee?

GYO (grind your own) is the only way.
Capresso burr grinder user here with much success, had it for many years.
You need a burr grind not those cheap blade units.

I had that grinder. It got to a point where the container picked up a static charge and coffee would go everywhere whenever handled. Hope that doesn't happen to you. I ended up getting rid of it was so bad. Made a mess every time I did a grind.

I replaced it with a Rancilio, and the burr grinder is a lot more consistent.

The real question I hear is if the burr is steel or ceramic? Wink

How could that possibly matter if both are significantly harder than the beans?

I had same issue, used dryer sheet to wipe outside sides, fixed issue.

I however did not care for noise, or grind consistency, so I ended up with an OXO grinder, which is marginally quieter, but amazing consistency. For $100, best value grinder I have found.

Regardless, yes, fresh ground beans are so much nicer in all regards.

Started to grind my beans in college, 40 years ago, with a cheap little Krups blade grinder that lasted me 10 years. I then moved on to a burr grinder, can't remember the name, but it was subpar, it was so messy to deal with, similar to Tonydec's issue. I dealt with it for a few years, went back to a blade grinder, then later bought a Rancilio Rocky burr grinder, have been using the same unit for close to 20 years. I have replaced the burrs twice already. It looks like hell, but still works great.

Ceramic stays sharper, longer, than steel. On the flip side: The occasional small stone will wreak havoc on ceramic edges.

I splurged on a Baratza Virtuoso a while back after living with a cheap GE blade grinder for years. The grind quality and consistency is excellent, but I do occasionally get some static build up in the container. I'll have to give the dryer sheet trick a try.

It's really hard to drink the pre-ground Folgers at the office when I know I have good coffee waiting for me at home.

Thanks for the dryer sheet tip! I thought I just had to live with the little bit of mess.

I use the cheap Krups grinder. I taste no difference in the grind between it and other more expensive grinders and I use nothing but Kona whole bean coffee.

Plus, it's lasted me around 25 years at this point of daily use.

It looks sorta like this. Couldn't find an image of the older one that was white like mine.

Same here & it will adjust to a very fine expresso grind.

You guys costing me money again.

Just put the Fellow olde burr grinder in a message to my wife for Christmas. My capresso has been doing duty for 25+ years; would be happy to retire.

And same here as well. I also like how easy it comes apart for cleaning.
