I love the cold, but this is tough, any exposed body part hurts after a few minutes. I wouldn’t trade this for the months of endless heat I grew up in though. I can live with the cold to have 4 seasons. OP: This message has been edited. Last edited by: OttoSig, Nine years to retirement! Just waiting!

Looks like a good day for everyone! Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

As long as you dress for it, NBD. That’s rink-rat weather for our boy up here.

Yep, Anything other than heat and humidity. I even like the wet, cold stormy weather of the PNW and the snow and cold of the Mountain west. While everyone is whining about the cold "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Not for me. I hate being cold, I am fine in the summers when everyone else is whining about the heat. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." I grew up in Illinois and love hockey, sledding and having snowball fights. I was never cold as a kid and still have all my cold weather gear. You quickly learn how to walk on ice and never stick your tongue on an aluminum flag pole. I was just looking at all the cold weather gear at Filson on line.

After spending 5 winters in Alaska (Us Army Cold weather testing workig by therometer and not the clock) temps of -50*F and colder were no problem..... But returned to the Lower 48 in fall of 1979 to south Louisiana and temperatures approaching +32*F become very uncomfortable... August 2016 lost all our Alaska cold winter weather clothing to a major flood living in a no flood zone area..... drill sgt.

Well, you guys are about 2 degrees colder than us. We got down to 3, wind chill -10. It's been a fun week full of wrecks and slide offs. I pushed a car out of the ditch with one of the county highway guys this morning on my way in to work, and used my Halligan to bust a giant ice block out from under another guy's rear diff this afternoon. The kids did build a huge igloo in the front yard, and it definitely makes hanging out in front of the fire very pleasurable. We're going through wood, but I put up plenty, and the furnace hasn't kicked on yet this year. It's also supposed to be 50 next week...no wonder I'm getting sick. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Grew up in Buffalo. Sub zero temps with -40 or colder winds chills were common. I moved to Arizona and don’t miss the cold even a little bit. We do get some colder weather ( our mountain region roughly 6K elevation) we get temps to the 20’s overnight for a few weeks most winters, and a few inches of snow. Thankfully doesn’t last long.
