Strzok, Page, McCabe, how are they still employed at the FBI? Please, someone explain it to me. They should be suspended without pay at the very least if not fired outright. Malfeasance in office for starters is grounds enough. Based on the fact that they were sending upwards of 60 texts a day - apiece, each one - failure to work after being paid would probably work just fine as grounds for suspending them. Here in WI we had a several year ‘John Doe’ investigation as the lefty controlled State ‘Gov election board’ went after Walker supporters who may of used Gov computers and time to support the Gov’s re-election campaign. Few stones were left unturned looking for internet posts,emails & phone calls with anything remotely to do with the re-election. How does this FBI collusion compare? It’s a factor of 1000’s more extreme. | |||

In a nutshell. A couple of circumstances. 1) Unless the person is fired due to strictly administrative efforts (laziness, subordination, etc.), cases handled by that person could be in jeopardy. 2) Being fired has the consequence of losing his accrued pension rights. One is called the good-ol'-boys network. The other is called we'd-better-cover-our-asses. Extra points in correctly identifying which is which. It is all a very well, deeply thought-out process. Small wonder one of them was reassigned to Siberia. That's why some maladjusted aluminum foil hat wearers propose, like ancient astronaut theorists, that no indictment is forthcoming based on Russian collusive efforts during the 2016 election. Are they easier to monitor if still employed? Presuming that some kind of case is being sought against them? Are they not all due to be questioned by both House and Senate committees? Is it harder for them to plead the 5th if being questioned about "official duties"? I'd like to think that they no longer have much to do while employed, and that there will eventually be a grand perp walk down Pennsylvania Avenue that leads to convictions and loss of federal pensions. Strzok and McCabe have both been on "rocket rides" of sorts throughout their careers. That they've floated to the top is a ripple effect of some ill-thought-out promotion/rotation policies some 15-20 years ago. And you're right. There are numerous "institutional impediments" to actually canning somebody at their level. | |||

Btw. Somebody give Mr. McGahn, White House Counsel, a pay raise. He understood very clearly from the get-go the legal implications of his advice. The political implications were just icing on the cake. Which, as we all know, is best eaten with two (2) scoops of ice cream. Back to basics. The world is divided into two (2) types of people. Vulcans and non-Vulcans. Vulcans are all logic. They don't consume alcoholic beverages and, by doing so, miss on all the fun. To them, emotions are to be readily discarded and they have a funny, awkward way of splitting-fingers. Non-Vulcans are the opposite. Why miss on a good joke when they can have the last laugh? Which in many ways can be so much more rewarding than having the first laugh. And usually they cherish a precious commodity. Time. They don't waste it nor take it for granted, they just bide on it. Time equates with both experience and knowledge. Rare commodities by themselves these days. And some of their best friends are Vulcan. Do they get along well!
