Love pepperoni pizza but the sausage is rare as unicorns down in Argentina. Guess they stopped importing it 6 or nore years ago.

My building’s night watcher is from Paraguay and recent boasted of a pepperoni pizza in his status so i mafe some threats Wink if he didn’t bring me some from his forthttrip to his home country.

He’s back and he delivered!

It too long a sausage just for me and I don’t want it to go bad.

Where should i keep it, for how long and what precautions to take.
Springtime is almost here.

Thanks.

I'd probably portion it out and freeze the portions, assuming you have a big enough freezer, and the organizational skills not to lose it at the back/bottom of the freezer.

If you know anyone who makes sausages down there- I heard there are a few people of Italian descent there, it probably wouldn't be too bad to make your own. Calabrian pepper and fennel salami. If I were there I'd give it a go!

Yea - This. Just to be sure. Then you can thaw and slice when you want to use it.

You can freeze it and it’ll keep forever.

No local pepperoni--OMG. Pepperoni and its cousin Soppresatta are readily available here. Home soppressata production is a long standing tradition in Westerly RI.

do you have a vac sealing machine? or access to one, be the best bet, seal each section to prevent any freezer burn, if you can

!!

You've been after pepperoni for some years now. Congrats! Smile

Glancing at my map, Paraguay is not all that far from BA..... Hmmm....

I can see it now, "Nicky's Pizza Parlor! Best Pepperoni Pizza in Town!"

Google Translate says the above becomes something akin to "¡La pizzería de Nicky! La mejor pizza de pepperoni de la ciudad" - wonder how bad that translation is?

I froze a big bag of Pepperoni (already sliced) during the Great Pepperoni Shortage of 2020. After cooking you'd never notice it had been frozen.

Can pepperoni be shipped from here to there? Is it expensive?

It’s food, prolly won’t make it thru customs. There’s a whole buncha hoops stuff has to go thru to get into other countries, just like coming to the US.
