I would like to clarify... I am not looking to go out an brawl. I am looking for some like-minded folks that, if need be, can/will have my back.

I am also wanting to "do something" to push back against what they are trying to turn this country into. Voting, volunteering for local, state and federal campaigns, driving my truck around with a Trump 2020 flag and wearing my MAGA hat are all well and good (and I am doing all of the above), but I am afraid there is going to come a time in my demorat run city when lines may be drawn and people are going to have to stand on that line.

I do not want to stand alone... plain and simple.

That is all secondary to me just wanting to make some new/better buddies. I have walked away from nearly every non-familial relationship in the last 4 years because of the rage and TDS my "friends" suffer from. I am an introvert, but I understand it is good to have friends to help and to provide help when things get tough.

Sadly the Oath Keepers here in my part of Ohio aren’t active (I’m a member).
The III%ers are more of a mindset but some local militias have adopted the designation and the local militia I know are a kinda sketchy . LoL.

I’ve found it difficult over the years to find an active & effective group that balances constitutionally conservative ideals with a heavy dose of back bone. But who’s ranks aren’t filled with sketchy folks.
Oddly veteran motorcycle clubs are great places to find some very solid like minded people but it comes with a whole set of participation requirements that don’t fit most folks lives.

In the age, in which we live, in which we have a wealth of information at our fingertips, I would ask again, of the folks, in this thread, who are leveling accusations of racism bereft of proof, for that proof.

You can throw McInnes up as a straw man all you want, but I haven't seen anyone post any real racism from the group, or their stated goals, or anything else.

TAllen01- I think there has been more than enough evidence here to show that, whatever they are, the Proud Boys are not a white supremacist organization.

I don't know what Gavin McInnes said, but I do know he often uses satirical humor to comment on many subjects. I think the satire in his comment was fairly obvious, but I will grant that is subject to interpretation. However, having watched several of his videos, I have never detected any racism from him.

I think it is past time for you man-up to the board and admit your error in relying on the Left to determine your opinion on the Proud Boys.

Not member...but they are anything but white supremacists.....lots of pacific islanders, latino, few blacks, etc. There is a good video of one of if not the leader overall stating they have vetting system and if they uncover those people (white supremacists) they block them or boot their asses out. As with any group likely to have a couple members on the fringe but they seem well organized and keep eachother in check.

I was (and forever) an "Oath Keeper" from the 70s.

When I enlisted and swore the Oath, it was the with all the conviction I have.

I swore that same Oath, everal times after, and was flag bearer to several enlistments for others.

It was and is, without repentance.

In that same light, having sworn that Oath, I made a choice that "Whatever it takes..." I will honor that Oath, until I am no longer capable of doing so. So, that puts my smack in the middle of the III%. (In the spirit of those men who faced the King and all of his horses and all of his men.)

And, since those men were "The" militia of the day, I must be part of the militia (and I waved the 45 year old clause, because, well I like waving).

All of that makes me sort of chauvinistic, in a "west world minded" way, and I guess one might call me proud.

But I have no formal, paid, card carrying membership to any group. Not that I have anything against such, only that I do not need to be in order to be who and what I am.

I was these things before these things were things.
