B’s bench is starting to get deeeep. That only spells doom for any opponent. "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

The Blues were much better in Game 2 than they were in Game 1. Hopefully, they can keep it up tonight. Go Blues! "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

MUCH better 2nd period! Tarasenko woke up. Perron on fire. Ugh. Hand pass no-call was bad. But it never should have gone to overtime. This message has been edited. Isn't it interesting three games have been decided on questionable calls all in favor of San Jose. Now when you peal the onion you find that call one. The Pavelski hit that drew a major. Vegas did allow 3 goals in that one power play. Round two another game seven. A questionable offsides call that negated a goal that would have tied the game. Granted not the game winning goal. Now the San Jose video coach was the one that pushing the head coach for that review. Landeskog was waiting to go through the door on a line change. He was not involved in the play. His replacement Wilson was on side and scored the tying goal. Nope Landeskog was not called for to many men, but offside. This is the first time in 25 years of watching hockey I have ever seen this called. Granted experienced players understand they are still in the game even if they are off the ice. The guy sitting next to the door opens the door and closes the door when it should be closed or opened. The Avs bench fell asleep on that play. Now number three. A hand pass call that goes in favor of again the San Jose Sharks. At the presser the Blues coach didn't really say much but he was clearly pissed beyond belief. This is either the wildest stroke of post season luck in professional sports history, or we've crossed the line of just being a coincidence. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

Do the next right thing |
Meanwhile, a check to the head from the Blues that didn't get called, and a puck over the glass that didn't get called against the Blues.... Don't go finding conspiracies just because you ignore the calls (or lack thereof) that go the other direction. Yeah, it was a hand pass, and it should have been whistled. No way to know where the game would have gone from there, but that doesn't give you license to pretend that every call went one way.

I'm not saying 'every call went one way." I'm saying three very specific calls went one way that had an impact on the game in three different post season series in one year. I don't ever remember anything coming close to this year. I've been coached and coached kids. The philosophy I was taught was don't worry about the refs. In the process of a season you might have a ref impact a game two or three times. Some will go your way and some won't. These things tend to even themselves out. This latest non call with the Blues directly costed a team the game. Three times in the post season in one year represents a serious problem if evenly distributed across the entire league. It has happened three times all in favor of one team in the Western Conference. Is Blindref still with us? I'd love to hear his take on all this. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

Hopefully, the Blues can mentally get past the way that last game ended and tie this thing up tonight... LET'S GO BLUES! "Some things are apparent. NHL admits to missed call on Karlsson's Game 3 OT winner A missed call on a blatant hand-pass leading to Erik Karlsson’s game-winner in Game 3 of the Sharks-Blues series has the NHL’s damage control specialists out in full force on Thursday. One of those responsible for cleaning up the mess was NHL Executive VP Colin Campbell, who joined Sportsnet’s Hockey Central at Noon to discuss the egregious non-call and how the league is dealing with the fallout from a postseason loaded with controversy surrounding its referees and video replay system. “We could start calling that next year, Game 1,” said Campbell in reference to Rule 38.4(ix), which allows the utilization of replay to ensure “good hockey goals” in a much broader way. “I don’t think I would use that card in the third round of a playoff — I’m not so sure San Jose would appreciate if we used that rule for the first time in that game, even though it would would’ve been correct,” Campbell said. Campbell also went on to admit that all four officials on the ice missed the obvious hand-pass that resulted in the Blues going down 2-1 in the series. “That was the wrong call,” Campbell said. “It should’ve been a whistle if the referee had seen it live. Yes, you could probably use [Rule 38.4(ix)] but i think it has to be a discussion [before expanding use of that rule]. “It’s so unfair that the game ended that way. The wrong way.” https://sports.yahoo.com/nhl-a...inner-224116442.html "Some things are apparent.
