One of my dogs loves car rides, the other is very anxious and will get sick on long ones. We solved it by always transporting her in her kennel if going longer than about 30 minutes. She lays right down and goes to sleep in there.

May our caskets be made of hundred-year oak, and may we plant those trees tomorrow.

Putting her in her crate is a guaranteed road to car sickness. She does way better in the front seat, with her seat belt tether than in the back seat and especially in her crate.

This Sunday she was doing great, until a bunch of Firetrucks with sirens wailing and horns blowing got her worked up, you could see the change in her face. Before the last one past us. She started to drool and panting started, a little bit later here comes breakfast!

She went from enjoying her ride to hating it in a blink of an eye.

I had given her some ginger about half hour before we left, it didn't help.

When I put her in the crate it makes it worse, she does better setting in the front seat with her seat belt tether on. Being able to see what's going on has better results.

Going places is important because I don't have a fenced in yard, and since my friends dogs will run off, Ahyoka has to go to their house to be able to play. She stays with me, so fence or not she is no more than 20 yards from me. But she has to travel to play with other dogs. If she gets sick, she doesn't want to play.

Well, maybe she wanted to ride on the fire truck! Just a thought. Hope she gets better soon.

That's a good thought, make it a pleasure/reward.

Nope, wrong breed. She's not a Dalmatian.
