Sometime in the next month or two I plan on purchasing a new Omega Seamaster ref# 210.30.42.20.06.001 that has that stunning silver dial. I have noticed about a $2,000 price difference between authorized dealers and Jomashop. Is Jomashop a legit dealer? Would you purchase a new Seamaster from them?

This is the Seamaster I have my eye on.

I don't have an answer, but am subscribing to this one because I'm shopping for my first Rolex and am just learning that ADs never have inventory and grey market sellers command a premium. Yesterday was the first day jewelry stores in AZ were allowed to reopen and well worn, pre-owned Rolexes I saw were plenty more expensive than new ones. But the used ones were in stock and new ones on endless order.

TBH, I didn't think this issue also applied to Omegas.

Just depends on how concerned you are about warranty service. If you are OK with having them work on your watch vs. the manufacturer, you should be fine.

Look for reviews where Jomashop servicing was needed to get an idea. Jomashop has a pretty good reputation for sales, but I haven't heard much about their customer service when problems arise.

I purchased my Seamaster from them.
I saved over $2,200+ (IIRC) from what I could find the watch new for.
I also seem to recall that the savings amount can fluxuate - so one day you’re saving 30%, and 2 weeks later it’s 45%.

The only downside is with Jomashop, there’s no factory warranty. Jomashop provides a warranty (there are both good and bad reviews of this), but the watch won’t be covered by Omega.

Jomashop guarantees the watches are authentic, and they ship them quite well protected.

The way I figured it, even if the watch showed up broke and I had to have it serviced, I was still saving money.

I’ve bought two watches from them and would have no issues doing it again.

I've never bought from them, but I probably would without too much concern. Their product comes from different channels, but would expect them to validate it fairly well. Still, ever deal is unique. I'd inspect it closely upon receipt.

I have purchased an inexpensive watch from them with no problems. Everyone else has already mentioned the warranty differences.

Many years ago I purchased a brand new (now discontinued) Omegamatic from a gray market shop. Can't remember if it was Jomashop but when it arrived, it didn't have a serial number on the lug where Omega puts it. Meant if I needed warranty work or repair I had to return the watch to the gray market dealer because Omega wouldn't work on it without a serial number. So there's that and if you did ever want to resell it, without a serial number it would be as valuable.

Eventually I opened the watch to replace a battery and found it to be without a doubt, an authentic Omega. Just didn't have a serial number. Couldn't tell where the the number had been polished away from the 7 o'clock lug, it just wasn't there.

Don't know what Jomashop policy is. If they require you return the watch to them for warranty or service, rather than Omega, that might be a clue.

Hi,
I bought a James Bond type Seamster from them years ago. It was a real one but I think the serial number was removed also. I was able to have Omega service on one occasion, but Omega changed their practices and won't service grey-market watches now here. The bezel had become somewhat loose in the last year so I tried to go through a local retailer for Omega for repair; they took the watch in and sent it off to Omega, but the watch was returned without anything being done to it; I was told because it was grey market.
(I know an excellent watch repairman at a local jewelry store, but he is no longer certified to work on Omegas, so can't help; he said Omega would not supply him with any replacement parts without certification.)

Given the trouble with repair work (and you will eventually need some if you keep it long enough and wear it frequent enough; it may be as simple as just a cleaning and tune up which can cost a few hundred dollars for an automatic), it might be a good idea to see what your service options are locally if you go grey-market...

I bought a Tissot watch from Jomashop and have been happy with the transaction==no problems so far!

BTW, I think your watch choice is gorgeous!
I, However, chose the blue wave dial and polished bezel!

Handsome watches, these Omegas!

I've bought from Joma many times.

They are good to go.

Yes, Omega WILL service your watch when it is out of warranty, just like it will with ANY Omega product.

If you look on the Guarantee tab as well, it states that Serial Numbers are left intact.
As a matter of fact I’m looking at mine as we speak.

Sent you an email. Check those channels too.

Vey very unlikely that you would need the warranty on new modern product.

If serial numbers are left intact, that is news to me. Mine was purchased from Jomashop over 10 years ago and it was removed back then.

If you buy from Jomashop, you don't get the manufacturer's warranty, you get Jomashop's warranty. I have heard good things about them, but my personal preference is to buy from an Authorized Dealer, if buying brand new.

I have a couple of ADs that I deal with on Omega watches and my experience is that you can can get a significant discount that will often get you to close range with a grey market watch.

I really like Urban Gentry , and I tend to follow his advise. Anyway, it may be worth a watch.
