I have learned a few things of what to do and what not to do as I wind down my military career.

(Apparently not well enough because I keep getting promoted, hahaha)

As many have said, stick to the basics and the packing list.

A good pair of boots. (I am still searching after all these years)

A few good pairs of socks, shirts and especailly underwear.

Depending on the packing list-
A good pair of long johns and gloves.
