Is there any way to kick this commie volcano off the union?

I know this is from 2/2024, so what’s the latest?

Well, since 'contemporary society' still has tyrants and dictators in government, there is still clear and present need for the old ways.

Democrats want to disregard the 2A to keep the populace in check. Republicans want to keep the 2A so that the populace will keep them in check.

I look around at democrat driven 'contemporary society' and it just seems like medieval conditions in a modern world. I don't want to touch their 'contemporary society' with a ten foot pole.

Well 'Bless their Hearts'... Roll Eyes

As Supreme Court Justices, they ought to be familiar with the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution - Article VI, Clause 2:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

Truth and reason has nothing to do with reality. They live and operate with impunity in their own reality and don't give a flying fuck with the SCOTUS or anyone else on the face of the earth. They do smoke a metric ton of christmas trees, so they got that. Whole farms of them.

That sounds like a secession threat. Between this and that idiot senator Hirono, I don't even know why Hawaii is even a state. It should have remained a territory. If not for its strategic location it wouldn't even be that.

Both times on the big island, it reminded me of being on the Navajo rez. Same attitudes and vibes given off.

^^^ I don't care if it's part of the US, I'm not going anywhere that the locals despise me.

As to the Navajo rez, c. 1984 I visited Monument Valley riding a motorcycle, stopped for a meal, and was accosted by bums before I could even swing my leg over the bike to get off it. I made sure to park outside a window and get a seat near it so I could watch my stuff. (This was my usual practice everywhere, but this time was of particular importance. Fortunately, nothing happened.)

Logical when you break it down to basics.

As with many larger/stronger than most gun grabbers, such as Samoans, (and maybe Sly Stalone under this context) guns bring them down to anyone's level.

They can't just force you to do anything because they are bigger than you, and they have a problem with that.

I’ve got family there. And I know a lot of people. What’s funny about this is I have some friends on the West side of Maui. There is one gun range on the island. Technically P-Mags and 30rd capacity magazines aren’t legal. Routinely my friend(s) are at the gun range, shooting, side by side with LE. LE knows these people have high capacity magazines and while it may be formal law/code, they don’t enforce it. So it’s all bullshit. Say federally CHL reciprocity was passed. You’d have to bring in the national guard to enforce it. The locals would lose it with Haole tourists conceal carrying while there on vacay.

The state is the most liberal state in the union. Check how they vote, every election cycle. They protest any progress in development. Want to build affordable housing? There will be locals and/or Hawaiians protesting due to this or that reason with the land, that the land is sacred for x, y or z reason. Then if we are talking about migrating from poles to underground power so they don’t have fires that wipe whole areas out like Lahaina, they’ll raise hell on that too because that would require digging in the ground. They need new construction for various reasons and sectors yet the locals would be in upheaval over it. They are always on about the climate but their grid won’t support EV’s and the locals wouldn’t let anyone update their grid because it would require construction and digging ground. And their kWh rates are the highest in the USA so good luck converting to EV’s.

Nothing gets done there, ever. People protest. Councils get formed to stop this and that. Endless debates in the public sphere, on the news, that just halts any progress whatsoever. Outside of the tourist locations with hotels it’s 3rd world. It’s ridiculous. And yes they do want to secede from the Union and form their own country. That’s great except without tourism the islands would die financially. It’s already 3rd world living if you aren’t wealthy and live there. The people that live there that work for a living have a low paying tourism supporting job, and at least 1-2 side hustles to scrape for more money. They invest zero in affordable housing for locals who work for the tourism industry. They hate guns and self defense yet crime is a thing, mainly theft. And as I mentioned, building/construction, there will be 4 groups putting a stop to it. Meanwhile, the entire island chain is volcanic one way or the other. So they have some of the best soil anywhere to grow food, coffee, weed, etc. They could easily migrate to growing premium weed, fruit, vegetables, and coffee, and create Hawaiian brands for each, charging hefty premiums for the Whole Paycheck grocery store chain crow of buyers and the islands would instantly make money, affordable housing could be created, major wins for locals. But nobody will allow progress for the islands so they remain in this stuck state, with nothing improving, year after year. The entire island chain is completely fucked politically. The 2A is the least of their problems yet the lexicon there thinks it is at the top of the list. You’d laugh at how many people own guns there that just ignore all their bullshit. The cops at least on the island I know well don’t enforce any of the liberal bullshit. They just don’t care.

Here’s a new policy the USA could adopt. If you cannot walk to a location, it cannot be a state.

Hawaii needs us more than we need them.

While a great place to visit I don’t think I could live there.

If they don’t like the 2nd amendment then they don’t like any of the constitution. They do not get to pick and choose parts. It’s all or nothing

Kick Hawaii out and let them thrash around in the deep end. China will probably sail into Pearl and drop anchor.

Their problem to deal with

I've got to say Hawaii, more specifically the island of Kauai is the only place I've lived, or visited where I didn't feel I needed a gun. Honestly I wouldn't trust 90% of native Hawaiians with a gun anyhow.

We have lots of family/extended family in Hawaii, my wife grew up there until she was 10 yo. We have traveled to the place a couple of dozen times, staying 1-2 weeks at a time. The last time was in 2017, and I vowed not to go back, my wife has little desire to go back either. Most of the family no longer contact us, return calls/texts because of politics, specifically Trump politics. Homelessness has become a problem in the last 15 years. We got tired of the island mentality and attitudes.
