Maybe a nearby machine shop or manufacturer would like to offer up some time? It's good community relations, particularly in the context of a kids' tournament.

Does whoever is sponsoring the STEM tournament assume everyone’s family has a drill press? That seems like a bit of a stretch. I don’t know many people who have one.

Maybe the sponsors have made arrangements to provide the use of one to the contestants, and the kids missed that?

If you're on FB go to a community page and ask. I see that a lot in my area and people are always helpful. I needed some wood blocks made just a week ago, posted locally and immediately got a very good wood worker to help.
