A good power tool battery pack should still be at least 70-80% charged after sitting for a year. Some of them do better than that.

Caveat: I'm talking about modern lithium-ion battery packs in good condition.

Hmmm... I already have an M12 Fuel drill motor and M12 Fuel Inspection Camera. I wonder if the Hatchet wouldn't be sufficient for the Jeep?

How thick a branch d'you suppose that thing can comfortably handle?

Would not use it with anything other than an xc battery, bigger the better…4.0 or 6.0. That said, it didn’t even sneeze at a 3” dia. young birch I tried it on, or a 4” dia. rhododendron main stump.

I would imagine the m18 is even more capable but haven’t tried it yet. The m18 full size chainsaw is pretty impressive though not a gas replacement by any means.

I have the M18 Fuel Hatchet. It will handle anything as long as the bar, which I believe is 8in. I used it with 5ah batteries and that gave it plenty of power. It’s very aggressive. Be careful when using the top of the bar. It really pushes it back at you more so than a regular chainsaw.

I finally bit the bullet and bought the 12" DeWalt 20V chain saw. Last week I took down three small pines to allow more sun into my back yard and realized I'm a fool to be doing this with a small buck saw.

Since I have a cordless DeWalt drill and leaf blower, it made the most sense to me.
