Thank you for all of the kind words and wishes. I've basically lurked here for the last few years. Was more active a few years ago when I had many SIGs. Just have 226 Navy now. I am a Lieutenant Colonel, a black oak leaf on that uniform and the medal is a LOM. I've had a wonderful career and the Army was good to me. Unfortunately, 28 years is the furthest I can go at this rank. My branch is Logistics, but I came in as an Artilleryman for the first four years of my career. That is a M109A6 Paladan wood model but the unit I was in had M109A2s and this model was given to me to commemorate that time. We didn't have radios in the guns back then so we used flags for convoy commands during movement...but we were nuclear capable!This message has been edited. Congrats on your retirement! We entered active duty around the same time. I did 22 years and retired 5 years ago. I'm sure you will agree it's a very different military now.
