Very sorry to hear of your loss.

Reading what you wrote really communicated what kind of man he was and a good life lived. Though it is used quite a lot, 'Fair winds' always seems to find me where I live. Sounds like you had a great dad. The kind you can smile about, even while you miss him.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

...But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory, but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. - Psalm 63:11 [excerpted]

I am very sorry for your loss, but very happy for the life he was able to have. It sounds like he was a good man and raised a good family. It is hard not to be sad, but remember there is the flip side to keep in your memories for the rest of your life.

Prayers for your father and for you and your family.
