Can a brotha get some gravy? Was up in Saskatoon around 2002 or 3, and their McDonalds had gravy as an option with their fries. Having served in W. Germany and had that combo before, I tried them. Not Gasthaus good, but I et em all... ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. Knowing is Half the Battle |
I'm eating my words today. I had the kids as school was closed for a "professional development day" so we did a road trip to Nebraska. Stopped at a renovated McD's on the way over the Burger King across the street because the McD's playground looked bigger. The Happy Meals at McD's were $3 each! For $3 each kid got 4 "almost chicken" nuggets, a bag of apple slices, a milk, and a tiny stuffed animal that got me another 30 mins of peace on the highway. They also got a micro bag of fries, but I think that wasn't supposed to happen as it was apples, fries, or yogurt tube. Anyway, the playground was twice the size of Chik-fil-a's and 15 mins in there really helped them burn off all the HFCS in their fries and chicken nuggets. I went to buy an extra toy for our other kid at home, and the employee tried to show me to the kiosk and then just gave them each one for free. McD's stock went up a notch in my books today, but maybe its just because this one had employees that gave a damn.

If you pick the right McD's, I'm pretty sure you can get one or both of those off-menu.

I'm just grateful my first job was at Wendy's and not McDonald's. These days there are just way more choices. Where did I read that around half of millennials have never eaten at McDonald's? Fast food and healthy rarely go together but lots are trying...and failing

I have a friend who’s first job was at McDonalds and at the time (not sure if it’s still available) there was a program you could follow to be an owner. He owns two of them now and is a multi millionaire who came from nothing so you never know.

His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
One of their better moves is the (selected items) all day breakfast. Sometimes I'll have that for lunch. Pretty decent cup of coffee (any size, including the large, for $1), too. I know others, and a few of us, look down on "McJobs," but really, nobody should look down on good, honest work. It isn't supposed to be a career, unless one wishes to advance through the ranks and eventually get into management.

Did anyone see the Movie "The Founder" The answer is simple. Go back to their roots instead of expanding the menu, shrink it. Improve the quality like real MILK shakes. Hell the whole operation could be automated these days... _________________________

Remember the Mc DLT? Apparently McDonalds doesn't remember what a flop that was. Now if they'd make the McRib and the Giant Bic Mac permanent they'd understand what the public really wants. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Translating a bendable question requires a bendable answer. Of course you still won't be able to make heads or tails of it. McD's isn't my first choice on fast food. Not by a long shot. Too many post-game stops there from junior high and high school sports, when our teams traveled to neighboring towns. Now, when I'm on the road, sometimes McD's is one of the few options when in the middle of nowhere. Or the one of the few options for quick and reasonably-priced breakfast in huge cities. Yeah, they have breakfast down. McD's was finally smart enough to start serving it all day long. Their wraps are actually decent. Fries are as good as they get. Milkshakes are great. McD's burgers are pretty generic and can't be made to order. I get that; so be it. So for the few times a year that I eat at McD's, I'm OK with them. Life goes on without angst or tribulation.

I only go to McDonald's 3-4 times a year, and then I only get the Filet-o-Fish and some fries. I really like their fish sandwich, I just won't eat their food more often than once every couple months. "If Gun Control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome" - Cam Edwards
