Jeff Yarchin used to do it, don't know whether he still does.

He gave some as a karma, I think more than one time. I never won any bacon, but I did win one of his homemade sausage karmas, many years ago. It was outstanding sausage!

Thanks V-tail.

I cure and smoke my own. Once you do this it's hard to eat store bought bacon.

Benton's Bacon caught my attention a few years ago when a Sigforumite posted the best bacon review of all time:
quote:
If you have an enemy, somebody that you would really like to do something that will ruin their life. If this person loves Bacon, I mean really loves Bacon....then send him/her a pound of this stuff. At first is will seem as if you have done him/her a major solid, that you are attempting to bury the hatchet.... but then ....the pound will be quickly gone....and he/she is going to have to go back to that stuff they call Bacon at the Grocery Store.... he/she will be standing on the Bacon aisle at the store, looking for something comparable to Benton Bacon.... there is nothing comparable to Benton Bacon...and in that moment of frustration and longing...they will know...what you have done to them....you will have ruined them forever for being able to enjoy the readily available stuff. Then they know that you were indeed buried the hatchet.....in their back."

I haven't tried it yet, but I have a childhood friend that lives 20 miles from there and says it's awesome.

I feel as though he may have also offered some canned bacon as a Karma? I mean, it may have been soup, but this isn’t a soup thread.

Your Bacon is just a bit underdone there, Sir! Even still, exceptions can be made for your culinary prowess however, though your glorious pile of Bacon may seem appropriate for many (most?) Bacon worshipers, it is quite OVERSIZED for this establishment! Just Sayin'... Razz

It's some of the best I've ever had. It's really, really smoky though. I like that, I've got family members who think it's too much.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."
