I have a corded Wahl KM-1 (I think there is a KM-2 now). It is a heavy duty model, made for trimming horses, etc. It runs quiet and cool. I just drape the cord over a drawer pull and it stays out of my way. I've been using it for cutting my hair (what's left of it) for over 35 years. When in doubt, mumble

Clippers arrived - I'll charge and try it out later. It came with a small vial of oil. Manual indicates that I should keep the blades oiled (although I've never oiled the Peanut blades, just kept them clean). Do I need to oil them or can I just keep them clean? If I need to oil them, can I use Slip 2000 (and some weight variant like EWL)? Or do I need to use this Wahl oil? "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." when you use oil, you'll hearing the blades speedup from the lubrication.

I keep a light coat on the blades after use since I store the clippers in a drawer in the bathroom where it gets really humid. A couple drops on the teeth while the clippers are running, then I dab my finger with a little bit and wipe the underside of the blade. I did use Slip2000 EWL before when I ran out of the little bottle they give you. It's a bit thicker it seems, but don't think it matters too much. I ended up buying one of the big bottles of the Wahl oil. $8 for 4 ounces will last me a long long time. https://www.amazon.com/Lubrica...TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== If you end up getting a bottle, some advice is to not remove the seal that is under the spout, but to just puncture the seal a couple times with a pin so you can better regulate a drop since it is very easy to dispense much more than you would want.

Thanks. Thx for the tip as well. Seems like regular Slip 2000 might be good - less viscous than EWL and synthetic. Would think that mineral oil and friction would become gummy over time. But I’ll stick to wahl oil for now. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned."
