I bought a 2018 Kawasaki Z125 Pro from one of my neighbors. This is Kawasaki’s version of the Honda Grom. It isn’t perfect but it’s fun as hell to ride. They are rated at 120+ mpg but most people are reportedly getting closer to 89-90 mpg. It should be a fun little around town commuter. I LOVE that it still has its factory exhaust! It’s fairly quiet for a motorcycle ehhh if you can really call this a motorcycle… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Cute. What's he gonna be when he grows up? What size are those wheels/tires? I was behind one similar, maybe even smaller, as he was getting on the interstate and my crystal clear thought was "hell no." You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Not sure on tire size I’ll have to look later on but it is small for sure. The bike is small, super light and nimble as hell. I’ve only had mine up to 45 so far. I want to get it plated before I do any prolonged higher speed runs. 45 on a Z125 feels a hell of a lot faster than it is. This is a bike that until you ride one you won’t truly understand the appeal or level of fun they provide at eyebrow raising levels of miles per gallon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Got both the Kawasaki z125 Pro and the Honda Grom (amongst several other motorcycles). Both are very fun to ride around on. Kinda of the equivalent of a 2 wheeled goKart My Grom has been modded with exhaust cam, tune, etc, so it's the better accelerator, but they are both fun little things. I only got the z125 Pro because there was a local auction for a perfect one with super low miles so I threw out a bid for $1200 thinking I wouldn't win, but did! My daughter got her Motorcycle learners permit so I ride around with her. Looks like this one:

So, what is the project for it? Feed it some vitamins and steroids so it can grow up?

Down the Rabbit Hole![]() |
So true. My Son bought a 2023 Honda Grom that he keeps at our house. It's fun to ride. I sometimes use it to make quick trips down to my shooting range 100 or so yards from the house. I sold my 1974 CT70 and bought a Honda Monkey. So much fun to ride.

Early last summer I did a 2600 + mile motorcycle trip for visiting my brother in Charleston, SC. While in Charleston, I met my brothers riding buddy who owns several bikes. One of his machines is a late model Honda Grom. I don't remember all the motor modifications the guy did, but it was capable of riding on the Interstate. It looked like fun until you hit a large pothole in the road! We pulled into a car/bike show set up in a strip mall parking lot and spent time drooling. Harley Road King, Yamaha R1, and a Honda Grom. Fixing the broken plastics, missing turn signals etc. This bike looks good from a distance but up close it’s got some cosmetic issues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

In todays episode of "Stupid Decisions I Have Made": A neighbor was moving out and did not want to move his 2-year-old Grom. He offered it to me for $500. I passed on it! End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Both the Z125 and Grom (as well as Monkey, CB125) are cool little bikes and people ride them all over the place. They're cheap to own, especially used, and fun to ride on streets and some roads. Nice little run arounds to throw in the truck when camping. I picked up a like new, used Monkey a couple years ago to play with and it was fun for a while but I found the suspension wasn't good enough for slow dirt roads and power was lacking for riding on most paved roads around here given the hills. I realize I'm an outlier because thousands of people love these little 125's. I showed it to Barb when I first bought it and she fell in love and had to sit on it. LOL no she didn't ride it dressed like that! No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.
