What is done with deported people who come back? Is there any punishment or do we just drop them back off in Mexico?

Sounds like it only took him about 10-12 days to turn around and come back, so yeah kicking him across the border doesn't sound like a way to get rid of his boom-a-rang a$$. Five years in a Federal facility playing grab a$$ with some bubba might make him wish for home.

I would just issue him a "restive movement" citation: i.e. an M193, through each knee - back to front from 5', a court appearance date six months hence, and leave him where he is apprehended. This way, he can go on his way and be a productive citizen who is trying to turn his life around.
