Yes, everybody knows that laws relating to firearms possession and even self-defense are much different and generally more restrictive in the UK than in the US. That doesn’t mean, though, that 90% (and very likely much more) of the American populace is any better protected against random attacks of this type than residents of the UK. There are several reasons for that starting with our own highly restrictive gun laws in many jurisdictions, but the most common and important reason is that people are simply oblivious to potential dangers. Even if many of us in the US could protect ourselves better than a UK resident, the simple fact is that the vast majority of us don’t. Mark Twain is quoted as saying that someone who doesn’t read is no better off than someone who can’t read, and the same is true of self-protection. As a society as a whole we have no basis for feeling haughtily superior to people in other countries for that reason alone. I was impressed by the police response in this incident. We have no way of knowing whether it could have been faster if their policies and practices were different, but even if that were true, at least they did the right things when they arrived on scene. The same has not always been true of police responses in this country, so again: Who are we to throw stones inside our glass houses? Added: My comment about the police response was posted before I knew about the people injured (one killed) by their gunfire. I cited that incident in a class I taught this morning, and will probably mention it in future training. This message has been edited. I got into a discussion yesterday with someone that blamed Israel for all the violence against jews. Yep. That's a do as we say or else mentality. I got told I sound like a mouthpiece for Israel. I held my tongue and left. I knew better than to engage. Won't happen again. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Those look like SCO19 officers, Specialist Firearms Officers which I believe there's several vehicles, 2-3 officers per vehicle, working each command area.
I continually shake my head at the number of Asian (Pakistan/India/Banglidsh) and now Middle Easterners that were dumped by the British gov into all the working-class, industrial towns up in the north...Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham. Hard hit industrial towns, far from the decision-makers in London, thus social consequences of cultural decay, grooming gangs and racial tension are merely tales & stories for the news only to be minimized & belittled by gov officials.

So, after coming to UK as a child, from the sh*thole of Syria, so that his family could start a new life here, free from all they left behind, they brought it with them, and never really left the place they'd fled. They got British citizenship, joined the rest of the British population. And brought their child up to hate, especially to hate Jews. He was left shot to sh*t outside a synagogue. And two other people, to whom he may be related, have been arrested. The 7/7 bombers in 2007, who killed 52 innocent people and themselves, were also either born here, or brought here as children. These folks bring their hate with them.

NEWS UPDATE - of the worst possible kind........ "One of victims killed in attack believed to have been shot mistakenly by police, GMP says One of the victims killed in yesterday's attack was shot mistakenly by officers during the armed response, Greater Manchester Police believe. In a statement, Chief Constable Sir Stephen Watson says the force have taken advice from medical professionals overnight ahead of full post-mortem examinations later today. "The Home Office Pathologist has advised that he has provisionally determined that one of the deceased victims would appear to have suffered a wound consistent with a gunshot injury," he says. "It is currently believed that the suspect, Jihad al Shamie, was not in possession of a firearm and the only shots fired were from GMP's Authorised Firearms Officers as they worked to prevent the offender from entering the synagogue and causing further harm to our Jewish community. "It follows therefore, that subject to further forensic examination, this injury may sadly have been sustained as a tragic and unforeseen consequence of the urgently required action taken by my officers to bring this vicious attack to an end." GMP have also been informed one of the three victims still in hospital following the attack has also suffered a gunshot wound, but the injury is "mercifully not life-threatening", the statement says. Both victims were believed to be close together behind the synagogue door when the attack took place. "Our thoughts and prayers remain with all of the families, and the wider community, impacted by this incident across Greater Manchester and beyond," Sir Stephen adds. The force has, as is mandatory in such cases, referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which investigates the conduct of and complaints against police officers." My thoughts - might be over-penetration of the .223cal rifle rounds. In images members of the congregation can clearly be seen behind the doors.

If the innocents were killed by bullets passing through a door, it could have happened with any ammunition suitable for use by the police. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz

... and replacement theory is real. The Globalists want to destroy civilized society. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Told cops where to go for over 29 years…![]() |
Having done the 911 police dispatch thing for 30 years, under this type of call I wouldn’t call 7 minutes “good”. My agency we would be looking at about 4-5 min for “good” with 6-10 min for “average”. I’m curious what the average armed response time to a life threatening incident is for you folks?
Don’t worry, they will always get there just in time to take the report… What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

We (I, anyway) don’t know anything about the operations of the UK armed police, such as how far they were stationed from the incident or other factors that would affect their response time. I worked as an emergency services dispatcher for only 12 years, but there were times that if a deputy had had to respond to any sort of incident he could have had a drive of 25 miles to get there. Arriving in five minutes to satisfy a “good” standard would have been a little tough even in good weather. But we all have our own opinions, and none is more variable than what good means. If the team chief had said something like, “Ta, darling. I’m finishing my cuppa and I’ll get going shortly so don’t get your knickers in a twist,” then my opinion wouldn’t have been quite so charitable, but we (I, anyway) don’t know that either. ► 6.0/94.0 “I can’t give you brains, but I can give you a diploma.” — The Wizard of Oz
