Since the war started, I've learned about the great value of the B-1B Lancer long-range bomber.

I went inside one once when I took my kids to a military air show when they were little tots. I've always loved that plane, it so incredibly gorgeous and deadly.

If there was an equivalent gun to go with the the mighty and beautiful Bone, what gun would that be.

For me, the gun is the Beretta 92. It sexy, beautiful, deadly, and looks great it tuxedo black.

^^^ I third. BUT in the spirit of the original post, the A-10, and the gun would be the Barrett M82.

Or if we are doing handguns, the Freedom Arms 454 Casull.

A significantly close second would be the AC-130(in any of the variants). And the gun(s) would be: a Glock 18, a 454 Casull, a .50 Barrett, and a M79 grenade launcher. Cause you have to have ALL the guns with the AC-130. Plus a turbocharged Chevy Nova convertiblized with a chainsaw to do the drivebys with.

Since were talking about the GAU and aircraft, this is appropriate.

US Air Force extends A-10 Warthog through 2030
The United States Air Force is going to keep the A-10 Warthog in service through 2030, Secretary of the Air Force Troy E. Meink announced Monday on X, reversing a retirement timeline set to conclude in 2029.

“In consultation with [Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth], we will EXTEND the A-10 ‘Warthog’ platform to 2030,” Meink wrote. “This preserves combat power as the Defense Industrial Base works to increase combat aircraft production.”

Stardate 41254.7

In a new turn of events, Starfleet has ordered, yet again, the delay of the A-10 Warthog's retirement until Stardate 66255.

You gotta add a plane to pair it with. I think the Warthog would be a good fit. Large bore Dirty Harry Magnum 29 line up with the 30mm cannon in the nose of the plane.

If the cannon jammed, you could just hang out of the cockpit and blast away with the venerable Model 29.

I used to have one in the 70s, it was glorious, just like the Warthog. Brrrrp.

MP5SD and F-117…black, quiet, sleek angles, require above-average service/maintenance, and expensive.

I’ll never understand why the Beretta 92 is considered sexy. The B1 on the other hand, most definitely.

As far as the A-10 goes, every time they think about getting rid of it, they find another reason they can’t live without it. It’s like having your big brother and his three best friends with brass knuckles and bats around the corner. Big Grin
