----- OLD THREAD RESURRECTION -----

Has anybody used The Good Feet Store for orthotics?
We stopped in a couple weeks ago and took their pitch. Their system is a set of 3 orthotic inserts that have a graduated approach to Adjusting to them.
I did feel better while trying them on and walking around.
But they are PRICEY.
Seeing a podiatrist tomorrow and going to ask her about them also. Be ok if insurance would pick up some of the tab.
Been through 2 pairs of custom orthotics in the past and they just didn't seem to hold up in addition to being hard to put in some of my shoes.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I tried it once years ago. Could be better now.

But they didn't work well for me and, yes, very expensive. Much more satisfied with the function an price of Superfeet - just need to find the right model for your feet. YMMV.

Good Feet inserts are a total waste of money.
Avoid if possible.

They worked for me when I started having plantar fasciitis about 15 years ago. The inserts cleared it up in a couple of months and it hasn't returned.

I can vouch for the Dr. Scholls Custom FiT Orthotic Inserts. The ones that used to have a machine you stood on at the store to determine which ones to get. They cost about $50, so it took me a while to finally cough up the money for them. What an idiot I was to not buy them sooner.

I use them in my steel toe shoes at the plants during some very long days. I would never do without them now. I'm a big guy and use the CF440s.

I can also recommend wearing a pair of compression socks that go over your calves almost to your knees. Makes those 14 hour days on your feet much more pleasant.

^^^This. Been wearing them for years. Always have at least three sets: Summer shoes, Winter shoes and muck boots.

My foot doctor said these things are a scam. You can get prescription orthopedic inserts for the same or cheaper price.

I have worn prescription orthopedic inserts for over 15 years due to plantar fasciitis. Went in last year and my doctor did the foot scan thing. I do not like the new inserts. I’m going to go back and have my doctor cast my feet as soon as I have time.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Had to reschedule my podiatrist appointment due to currently dealing with pneumonia.
Good Feet is likely out. Will wait and see what the doc says.
Also, supposed to get a couple SI joint injections this coming Thursday so that may help deal with my leg/foot issues.

I diligently use custom orthotics from my foot doc. However, Red Wing (as in, Red Wing shoes) offers this custom orthotic feature in their store for much less.

I saw a guy getting some and he was standing on a hi-tech machine in his stocking feet. I asked the store manager and he said they refund your money if you don't like it. Much cheaper than custom inserts from my doc but I haven't tried it yet.
