^ That must be the plan I have now, and I think it's the cheapest deal I've gotten so far. I've been doing this from the time my first 6 month free subscription ran out on my 2015 GMC. I keep wanting to cancel the one on my wife's Jeep, but she won't let me. She'd rather pay the exorbitant regular price for the 500 extra channels that she never listens to. ------------------------------------------------ "It's hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way of making decisions, than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." I've got it in my 2012 Camry. I don't hear many commercials, I mostly listen to the BBC, country and 80s/90s channels. I've gotten offers for 3 year subscription for $99 for each of my vehicles that were over 10 years old (wasn't a subscriber at the time). That works out to $2.75/mo.

I never got past the "free trial" offered with the new car. The way the DJ's talk over the ends of the tracks, non-stop "reminders" (not ad's) to tune in to a special 8pm show... just not worth it. I ended up paying for Pandora Premium. No ads, No DJ's, just music, comedy, or podcasts. I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

3 year $99 (+ royalties and tax) no auto renewal for my truck. Well worth it to not have ad's Hold out for that one. “Let us dare to read, think, speak and write.” John Adams

I cancelled earlier this year. I don’t want to hear the fake DJ talking about kardashian updates. It seems to me they could save money by not having a fake DJs. I don’t want to hear people talk. I just want music

I canceled a couple of months ago even though I was happy with the service and price. Listed in the car over satellite and by streaming, and streamed at my house. Their streamed content, which sounds way better than that highly compressed satellite signal and there are a lot more channels available. I now just listed to my TIDAL streaming, which I get at a military rate and to the free Version of TuneIn Radio I listen to both in my house and car even though I have to listen to commercials with the latter. We have Amazon Prime so we have their basic streaming service. I listen to it every now and then just because it is there. Retired Texas Lawman

My wife and I cancelled about 5 month ago. She'd been reluctant, but she now, like me, has Pandora and loves it. We can pick our music on our phones and listen either from a desktop or our phones or thru our car radios. It was nice to tell Sirius to take a hike. I'm sure, eventually, someone will mess Pandora up, but for now she can get her contemporary rock and easy listening music and I get my Western Swing and 50s and 60s era country music. Bob

Had SXM 6mo trial when I bought my truck, no way I'd pay for that service. I have a decent classic rock station locally, which of course plays 20 minutes of commercials each hour, and more AC/DC than I care for, but costs nothing. None of SXM's stations reflected the fairly varied genre's I have interest in (everything from Jimmy Buffett to EM&M to The Doors to Strumbrellas - don't ask, I like songs I can understand the lyrics to). Pandora on shuffle provides virtually everything I like, for free, for the cost of a commercial about 4x per hour, usually one I've heard so often that its practically white noise. I wouldn't pay 9.99 per month to skip that, even though it would not stress my budget one bit, however, I'm Scottish enough to take advantage of a deal when I see one, and refuse to pay anything for something I can otherwise get for free.

A question for Pandora users. When using the Pandora phone app in your vehicle, do you need to have a cell plan with unlimited data? ------------------------------------------------ "It's hard to imagine a more stupid or dangerous way of making decisions, than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." When I first heard Pandora, I liked it, but hated the commercials, which seemed to come on way too often, though not at all like FM radio-not even close. I reluctantly purchased the commercial free subscription and love it. It is $120 per year but I can program in any type of music or artist I choose. I want Jimmy Buffet, I just put his name in the App and I get a Jimmy Buffett station. Same for Waylon Jennings, Tommy Duncan or whomever I am liking at the time. And, on Shuffle, I get a little of all my music, all my artists. My wife liked mine so much, she purchased one for herself (she isn't a Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb or Webb Pierce fan) and loves it as well. As to the question about whether one needs a cell plan with unlimited data, I have no idea. I "think" it's just a subscription service like Sirius and there's no need for an unlimited data plan, but I don't really know. I just added the Pandora App when I first got the free Pandora and when I purchased the commercial free version I didn't have to change anything-the music was the same, just never a commercial again.
