I counted out $18.00 worth of it.

And fed it in to the self check out machine at the supermarket.

It felt good, then the attendant came a swiped her old man card for an extra 10% off.

Add on to that the $22.00 I saved on sale priced food.

I was walking on sunshine.

That must have been a small jar because it adds up really fast.

I have one of those small jars that has a slotted lid that counts your money as you put it in which is never accurate by the way since it confuses dimes and pennies. Anyhow when that thing is full its always more than $75.

We have a ~5gal glass 'Sparkletts' bottle, it has maybe 3-4" of coins in it.
Since we don't use much cash anymore, it rarely gets added to.

Our bank will actually take these for customers. Basically you drop it off into a bag they label for you, a week or so later the money shows up in your account. No rolling require, no 10% service fee.

Like many, not a lot of change generated these days but still adds up since neither of us is carrying that around. Actually the change bucket ends up with a real amount of money from $1 bills. Again, no place to lug those around so anytime I have some in pocket at end of a day, in they go. Same for wife.

It's a nice little lagniappe to cash in before big trips, etc. Of if you need to take some tip money with you.

I walk by a bank of small lockers every work day, at least twice. The lockers are free to use, but require a quarter be deposited to release the key. When you return the key, the quarter is returned to you.

Since late 2020 I check the lockers daily 3-4 times a week (depending on how many days I work that week) and collect unclaimed quarters. Intially I put them in the cap of a spray-on deodorant. When that filled up I used the 24 ounce plastic cup from Starbucks, the Venti size. When that filled up, I got another cup.

I just started the 5th cup of quarters a few weeks ago. I believe each cup contains $125-$135 in quarters. There is also a handful of dollar coins in there that sometimes people use.

I'm hoping to fill up at least cup number 5 before I leave the employee of this establishment in 616 days.

A local pizza chain offered 30 pies, one a day, for $39.99.

That is $1.33 per pizza.

For really good pizza, normally price at $12 per pizza.

I'm on pizza five.

They are going to loose money on me.

And doubling my aerobic training at the gym.

My tiny town bank takes change also, but it was one less stop to make.

There is probably another $40.00 in the jar.

That jar saves me a trip to the ATM for tip money on the way to the strip club. Just be sure to toss the quarters underhand or they get pissed.

I had a 5 gallon water jug all my change went into for over 20 years. We all counted it to use on a family vacation and it ended up over $2k!

I know a guy who's wedding gift to his daughter was a 15 gallon keg, with the top sawed off, full of change from years of emptying pockets. We had to move the damned thing on a dolly.

Have no idea how much was finally in it.

I let my niece and nephew clean out my car change stash before I sold it.

It had a deep area in the center console between the front seats.

They made out with over $100.

I was their favorite uncle for a couple minutes…

Paying with debit or credit cards for almost everything, it takes me a long time to build up any coin stash. When my little piggy bank starts to fill, I take it to one of those Coinstar or Cash Cow machines.

I keep a pickle jar (qt) on top of the dryer and use the cash from it for things like adult beverages or ammo. Usually get about $110-140

Used to take it to the credit union we belonged to in NC, but we moved to TX and they don’t have a machine here, so you have to roll your own.

IIRC the coin star machines get 10% off your dough- FFFFFFfffff that, just like JG Wentworth-it’s my money and I want it now.

Now I separate the coins, and put the Pennie’s into a 2 liter and the other into the pickle jar. When it’s full this time, ima get a bottle of The Macallan for fancy occasions
